Thank you for sharing that trail. I road that trail a lot when I went to college near there 1994 -1997. I rode it on 1990 Trek 8900 composite hardtail with a Rock Shox Quadra 21R. That trail has been around for a long time, and I am glad to see all the work that has gone into it. Your commentary during the video is well done and I appreciate the honesty when it comes to listening to your body. Hope you have a great time in Germany.

Thank you, Alex!!!!! I used your recipe for success to instruct my 12 y/o son on making an obstacle. This one was his first downhill drop off. We parked the bikes and walked the obstacle while I pointed out elements to consider. Then I had him walk his bike back about 20 yards and run up, stopping short to visualize the approach; twice. On the third run up, I led him in the approach and he dropped in like a pro. He was so stoked that the rest of the day he hit obstacles without thinking too much about what he was doing. His belief in his abilities to ride increased exponentially. I only knew how to get him through this because of your videos and experiences. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

You're not the only one who doesn't listen to one's self Alex, I paid the price and ended up smashing my arm to pieces, had to have 3 operations on it, almost lost it all because I wanted to make the jump which I'd done countless times before but after a 3 mile slog up hill instead of having a rest I just went for it, didn't make the jump, ended up over the bars, smashed my elbow and fore arm to bits, broke my ankle and two toes. I now have a titanium hinge and bars for an elbow and fore arm, no more jumps and downhill sessions for me, still able to ride though. Stay safe, I love your energy and willing to go that extra mile for your videos.

I road Kitsuma with my son in 2019 and yes the greenway up was a good warmup and the switchbacks are from Hades but man what a thrill. I managed to keep the rubber down and had a blast. Alex you have inspired me the entire 4 1/2 I’ve been back in the saddle and at 62 I need it :) My 11 year shred queen granddaughter loves your laugh and so do I. Ride what ya want where ya want with you ya want! Ol man on a bike.

Alex, Alex, Alex.....August 10, 2019 I was out for an early morning ride by myself, pushed really ,really hard for me and was about 9 miles in when I just overshot a corner (due to fatigue) went down, heard a snapping sound and when I rolled over my left leg was in front of me but my left foot was pointing out to the left and there was a gigantic lump on the inside of my lower leg...tib/fib FX. I had to twist my foot around, make a splint out of sticks and had to cut my hydration pack straps off to tighten it. I yelled for help for 3 hours cuz...one of 3 spots in 1400 acres with no cell service. 2 plates, 20 screws and 3 surgeries later I learned to listen to my body. Don't make my mistake...please don't. Thanks for the video and enjoy your trip.

A couple years ago, I discovered Kitsuma from watching Seth's video with Boostmaster. I drove 10 hours to ride it. Since then, Kitsuma is my favorite trail. Before Kitsuma, my favorite trail was Fire Mountain, which I discovered from watching your video. Definitely worth the drive from the Midwest which does not have mountains. After your first video at Snowshoe, I went there to check it out. Thank you for showing me Snowshoe. Please show more of the excellent trails in the Appalachian mountains. I do not want to waste precious vacation time trying mah trails.

Great video as usual!! Your message about listening to yourself hits home with me as I am sitting here unable to ride from a broken L2 vertebrae. I didn't listen to myself riding a trail I have done hundreds of times and got sloppy! In an instant I was flying over the bars and landed flat on my back on a rock. We all need to listen to that voice in our heads. Unfortunately if we don't bad things can happen.

Hey, Alex. The MTB'ing didn't take with me but back in about 2017 I was getting into riding and following you. Today I heard a guy talking about van life and I wondered about you. Glad to see you're still making a go of this lifestyle, just hearing your voice brought a smile to my face. I just looked back through my IG and very my first post was of my red "Live Free, Ride Hard, Get Stroked" shirt. I took a pretty hard crash and decided MTB'ing just wasn't what I was looking for, preferring the gravel and road riding that takes less focus. Nonetheless, your loading down that little Mazda 3(?) and going for your dream was awe-inspiring and I'm glad that I was able to contribute early on. I hope Phil, Seth, and Brian are all doing well. I might tag you with an old fat guy in a vintage Single Track Sampler shirt tomorrow.

Alex I know exactly what you mean about listening to yourself. I’m 52 years old but in my head (especially on my mountain bike) I think I’m still in my twenties. I think back to those old cartoons with the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. It’s a constant battle trying to listen and follow the angels advice. I found out earlier this year that a full knee replacement is in my future and that’s changed how I ride quite a bit. I know I can’t push as hard as I use to to hold off on going under the knife but that devil still says go on you can do it! The struggle is real.
