In the 1980's I was a teenager. I always knew of The Beatles. And of course as a child of the 70's I always had the haircut, lol. My parents bought a new stereo with a turntable in the late 80's, it was all 8 tracks and cassettes before that. Well I found my mom's old 45's of The Beatles and played them one day and I've loved them ever since!

I learned of the Beatles by buying their albums one at a time and listening to them in their entirety. I feel that people today just listen to random songs from different periods in their career and they are missing out on their greatness. If you listen to each album, in order of their recording, you can see how far they progressed as a band in a short period of time.

I can say for myself that this approach worked well even in the 80s and early 90s (still with vinyl). Luckily, due to my young age at the time, I first liked the early Beatles hits and therefore got the early albums first. After a while I was finally ready to get all the original albums, and my experience was exactly as you described. Each album opened up a new world of experience for me and took my musical development a step further. It took me the longest to warm up to the “White Album”. But with each re-listen it got better and better (and has since become my favorite album alongside Abbey Road). Unfortunately, these days the album concept is completely shredded by social media. Maybe someone will develop an algorithm that only plays entire concept albums in a row. 🤔

Abbey Road is the band's final record. The Abbey Road medley, and specifically The End is a rollicking farewell to the band. Ringo gets a drum solo, and the 3 three guitar players trade solos (George, Paul, John, George, Paul, John, George Paul, John, then piano out. It was magic while it lasted, and it was over before any of them had turned 30.

For me, Paul McCartney's voice is a tour de force on this album. His vocal range and variety of singing style is the strongest he's ever sounded. And George's guitar work on this album is his most creative and perfectly matches each song. And, of course, Ringo's drumming is divine as always. John gets in a couple of great tunes on this album, too, with Come Together and I Want You (She's so heavy). For the first time ever on one of their albums, they made George's Something an A side single ( for 45 rpm records- look it up!) along with Come Together, which could be considered the B side. John himself said that Something was the best song on the entire album!

Hi Bruna and greetings from Puerto Rico. You've made a great choice to do the reaction of Abbey Road which was recorded from February 22 until August 19, 1969. In August 20, it was the last day of them recording as a group. Another info that I want to share with you is about the recording engineers: Geoff Emerick, Glyn Johns, Barry Sheffield, Jeff Jarratt and Phil McDonald. These guys were the recording engineers of this fantastic album. The recording sessions started in Trident Studios with I Want You (She's So Heavy) George Harrison made the wind effect using a Moog Synthetizer, Billy Preston played the organ. I hope that this information could be useful for you!

Very nice reaction here but from "You Never Give Me Your Money" through to "The End" are meant to be listened to as a medley. The sound you wondered what it was on "I Want You (She's So Heavy) during the instrumental part on the last few minutes of the song was "white noise" that they pumped in. Pretty unusual and very cool. I heard you say a several times about songs that they were pretty simple but we'll done. Actually, Beatles songs are a little more complex instrumentality then you might think. They were pretty much genius's the way they structured their music. I don't have a lot of use for Rolling Stones top 500 albums anymore. For many years "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" was ranked #1 Revolver #3. Rubber Soul" "The Beatles" more commonly known as "The White Album" and "Abbey Road" were always in the top 15 only "Abbey Road" at #5 is a joke. You don't take all time great albums and knock them out like that. What we have is a new guard voting and trying to rewrite history. All time great albums are all time great albums. There is no way Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" is the greatest album of all time. The song is great, but greatest album ever is laughable. This record was never even in the top 10 on the list. Joni Mitchell at #2, what the hell is going on here? Marvin Gaye was propped up to #1 because of the "Black Lives Matter" protests in 2020 and 2021 because the song was very relatable to that movement but not the album. Bumping this up to #1 was certainly a marketing decision. Only one Bob Dylan album is in the top 10 with "Blood On The Tracks" at #10. He should have at least one more in the top 10. The big debate was always if The Beatles "Sgt Pepper's" released in 67 or their "Revolver" album released in 66 was the greatest Lp ever. Now they've both been knocked out of the top 10. You might want to react to The Beatles chronology starting with "Please Please Me" through "Let It Be". The growth of this band between 1963-69 is nothing short of amazing and unparalleled in the history of recorded music. After that you want to do "Past Masters" which is a double disc of all of their singles and Ep's between 1962-70. Do these and watch your comments literally explode and if you want more subscribers increase a lot. I saw two young ladies like yourself do the chronological thing and it exploded for them. I don't think either was prepared for what hit him. They both dropped a Beatles every two to three weeks which was a great way to do it. People don't want to wait months for Beatles reactions. You do know that your dealing with the most influential, creative, experimental, smartest and beloved band in history. Their fan base is 🌎🌍 worldwide and a rabid one. These guys split up in 1970 and 52 years later are still a top 3 selling act worldwide every year which is astounding. They have sold close to 900 million albums and close to 2 billion singles sold and yes that's billion. Sit back and let that all sink in for a moment from record sales and still a top 3 act. You seem pretty cool so I will subscribe now but if I don't see more Beatles in the future, I'm out. ☮️✌️💕👌

It was originally meant to between Mustard and Polythene Pam [hence the line 'Takes him out to see the Queen' in Mustard]. Paul decided he wanted it taken off and left a message to do so. Beatle's techs were under strict instructions not to throw away anything so one of them tagged it on to the end of the original tape. On later listening they liked it there and told them to leave it there.

About the songwriting credits: Due to a deal Lennon and McCartney made early on, all of their songs are credited to "Lennon-McCartney". In the early days they usually did write their songs together, but later on, like on Abbey Road, they wrote their songs separately but they were still credited to Lennon-McCartney. For example John wrote Come Together while Paul wrote Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

Excellent reaction. I don't know if you figured out the gentle puns in "Because" on your own, or if you read that... that is something that other reactors never get. It makes it seem like you have a better grasp of English than most people born in English-speaking countries. Now that you've listened to the Beatles' last album*, I recommend you do more Beatles reactions. You could definitely react to the group's albums chronologically, which will highlight their amazing growth. When the Beatles started in 1962, rock and roll was considered to be "children's music" and not worthy of serious attention. By the time the Beatles finished in 1969, rock and roll was definitely acknowledged to be an art form. The moment in time that rock music switched from "not art" to "art" was the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" album. If you react to no other Beatles' albums, you should at least do that one. It was astonishing in its time, and it is still pretty astonishing today. * Why the asterisk (above)? Anyone who studies the Beatles for 15 seconds knows that "Abbey Road" was recorded last, but "Let It Be" was released last.

There is a great lesson to be learnt from the story of 'Come Together'. At the start of the break up Lennon went off on one of his regular rants to a journalist and said that the song had nothing to do with MacCartney despite the 'Lennon/MaCartney' credit and that Paul did not have the mindset to write such a song. When the plagiarism lawsuit from Chuck Berry's lawyers came in, guess who was the only one of the two to be sued? :)

Such an influential band. I always liked them more than the stones. My fave album by them is still Sgt. Pepper because of the production (and the obvious drugs💀). I am a sucker for great production values.😀😀😀

Thematically Sgt Pepper works well as an album, while at the same time being at least as colourful and characterful as Abbey Road. Just after they'd quit touring they had a load of fun in the studio and it was probably the last time Lennon and McCartney worked closely together so much. I think it started Harrison on a new path and gave Ringo his most famous vocal.

For the Beatles usually the author also sang the song. So listening to the vocals is enough to find out about the author.

Most people listen to the same half-dozen "Beatles" songs. They actually had dozens of hits. And their entire LPs are worth hearing -- not all their great songs were singles.

Some perspective: How old is Abbey Road ? The Beatles final album was the first time they used a Moog synthesizer in recording.

I'm sure others will say it, but ...from "You never give me your money" to "The End" are not really separate songs, but a medley (meant to be listened to without stopping). Because it was their last album recorded, these were unfinished songs, thrown together as a medley...another brilliant creation of the Beatles.

Great reaction !!! If you think " Oh Darling" was heavy ...try " "Helter-Skelter" from the White album ..recorded a year earlier ( 1968) many consider this song the BEGINNING OF HEAVY METAL !! including OZZY OSBORNE !! and he should know !!1😊😊😉

1. Please react to the other Beatles albums!!! Maybe since you started with Abbey Road, you can do them reverse chronologically haha 2. I've listened to I Want You (She's So Heavy) literally dozens of times in my life, maybe hundreds, and I have never once noticed that he doesn't finish the last line of the song and just leaves off at "she's so--" !! Thanks for teaching me something new about an old favourite :)

Her Majesty originally went between Mean Mr Mustard and Polythene Pam but got removed. Then an engineer added it back on the end. I like it better where it was originally as it flows right from Mustard with that chord. I think I'm in the distinct minority, though 😞

I started my Beatles journey spring winter 2022. I worked my way from the first album. I loved it all, mostly. I thought nothing can top what I've already heard. Then I listened to Abbey Road, and it's without a doubt one of the greatest things I've ever heard. And I always placed Pink Floyd at the top. But without this album, there'd be no Pink Floyd as we know it.

Thank you Bruna for reacting and commenting on the very best album of my most favorite band ever! Growing up in the 1960's my older brother had all the Beatles albums and 45's, so The Beatles were a part of my daily diet. About your comment on Maxwell's Silver Hammer and its upbeat melody in contrast to its dark lyrics. It reminded me of Elton John's similar dark song: "I Think I'm Going to Kill Myself". A song about teenage suicide but with an upbeat melody which includes tap dancing. About your sister and her love of the sun. Tell her to check out The Beatles songs: "Good Day Sunshine", "I'll Follow the Sun", and "Dear Prudence". Also check out "Sunny Days" by Lighthouse. And ""Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. And also the song, "Sunshine" by Nazareth. Additionally, there is Elton John's song, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" Lastly, I would recommend Paul McCartney's first post-Beatles live Album from 1976 called "Wings Over America" which includes live concert versions of some Beatles songs such as Blackbird, Yesterday, Lady Madonna, and I've Just Seen a Face.

You need to play the 'Medley' in one go, stopping it so often kills the atmos that was intended.

Abbey Road was the last album The Beatles recorded together. But it wasn't the last album released. That was Let It Be, which was actually recorded before Abbey Road.

Originally, Her majesty was not supposed to be on the album. It was supposed to end with the end. An engineer wanted to save Her Majesty so he put it at the end of the tape after some silence. It accidentally found itself onto the first vinyl pressings after some silence and the Beatles, who tend to like happy accidents, decided to leave it on.

This is quite the swan song album. Although Let It Be was the last album released, this was the last album they recorded. A couple of them worked on "I Me Mine" after this for the Let It Be album, but this was the last time they were all together.
