They're back-stage besties for real, those two groups are always hanging out and even buying each other cakes for birthdays and stuff lol. There were many underground artists involved, a couple of idols including her, former idols. Most of which were rap directed, but not all. Over the course of the project, she has grown tremendously in rap performance and lyrics writing. I've been addicted to her flow since the debut but now I'm just proud of her. She's my 2nd favourite female rapper between (G)I-dle Soyeon and Mamamoo Moonbyul. But still she's not even my bias. My bias is Seunghee(the main vocalist). She used to be a leader and the most popular member at the debut. Every1 says that she's underrated/underappreciated vocals. Wish you'll be reacting to their other songs. No, Me and Black dress. CLC are the senior group to (G)I-DLE. Hyuna actually helped with the production of Hobgoblin and the stylistic choices mirror her former group 4Minute, which was of the same era as 2ne1.

So the one you loved her lower, husky voice, is Seungyeon. She is my heckin' 200% bias. Seunghee, the one with the highest notes, is a very deep close second for me. She's such a powerhouse.

CLC is one of my favorite groups, they are so so well rounded. They are under Cube, like GIDLE, so they do write and produce a lot of their own music. I believe Yeeun always writes her own raps (as a good rapper should) and she participated in the show Good Girl with helped her break from the mold and gain tons of confidence (it was a joy to watch her journey on the show she grew so much). Seungyeon is the leader and the one you paused to talk about her visuals, she's the main dancer and she has a low, husky voice which I love a LOT. Seunghee is the main vocal, her voice is very warm and on point. Sorn and Elkie sing super super good too. Actually all of them do, Yujin and Eunbin (although Eunbin is more of a lead rapper and maknae extraordinaire). Honestly, I know you love Dreamcatcher, so if you check out more of CLC you are gonna love them too. Personality wise they are very kind and hardworking, care a lot about their fans and they are nuts, just like DC are. They're also very good live, in my opinion. I think you would enjoy this group A LOT. BY THE WAY, there's lots of videos of them being crazy hilarious, similar to those THIS IS DREAMCATCHER videos.

The one you liked in Helicopter is SeungYeon and she's my bias too ! She's a very good vocalist but she's an amazing dancer, the best from her generation in my opinion ♥️ Also if you like girl with low voice/dark timbre you might want to check out Lee Hi, she's a soloist with a very jazzy and soulful voice :)

Ok so weirdly Hobgoblin was a drastic change from their original concept, then after a while they put it Devil which is actually more similar to their original debut concept, and then Helicopter is pretty close to the strong feminine concept they have made for themselves now. When I say Devil is similar to their debut concept I mean it, watch their debut song PePe and you will see what I mean. In PePe they do have two less members than now because those two were added to the group later on.

I'm glad you liked Seungyeon's voice! She gets a lot of (well deserved) praise for her dancing but not enough people talk about her vocals. As a sidenote, since you like deeper voices you should really check out BVNDIT some day. I don't know if you would make a video on them (they're a rookie group and not super well known) but either way you would probably like them a lot. They have 5 members and 3 of them have really nice deeper tones. They're also massive Mamamoo fans, we love people with taste. One of the members literally has a Wheein photocard in her phonecase 😂

I love that you checked CLC out! I only recently stanned them but I've fallen super hard, they're underrated like their pals Dreamcatcher but sadly don't seem to have the same kind of backing from their company when it comes to releases. They're super talented, Seunghee's vocals definitely deserve more attention as does Seungyeon (the girl you liked) 's dancing and Yeeun's rapping imo. Hobgoblin was the first 'girl crush' song they did. It does sound similar to a 2NE1 song, but only because it was produced by HyunA, formerly of 4Minute, their company seniors. 4Minute had actually stolen a couple music show wins from 2NE1 by out 2NE1'ing the girl crush genre. 4Minute had recently disbanded so Cube had a bit of a vacancy. CLC actually had sort of a similiar genre change like Dreamcatcher did from Minx. You comment how Yeeun's rapping sounds better in Helicopter, but its actually that she's emulating HyunA's style in Hobgoblin rather than doing her own thing.

I love that you were able to pick up that Seunghee is the main vocalist as soon as she started singing in Hobgoblin. She definitely carries their live vocals. If you’re interested in their covers, they did a special live stage of 4 minute’s Crazy + Super Junior’s Black Suit where I think you get a good sense of the depth of Seunghee’s voice.

9:55 English versions of Korean songs are never easy, Helicopter did a good job but so far the best translated song I've heard is Regular by NCT 127 (a boy group).

Yay, CLC. I wish I got into them more but I love that they're friends with DC. Their interactions are hilarious. So, never heard a kpop group sing an all English version of their song, you say? Well * whips out list * once upon a time there was a group called the Wonder Girls who tried to break into the American music market back in the day. They were very well known for their retro-inspired hit "Nobody" which had Korean, Chinese, and English versions. In fact, when they tried to branch out to the American market they had English versions for most of their title tracks. Obviously their efforts in America didn't gain traction but considering that they got to tour w/ the Jonas Bros, star in a Nickelodeon movie, made appearances on Wendy Williams and So You Think You Can Dance, and had merch in the now-defunct Justice stores I'd say that was remarkable at the time. You should react to them for a future Throwback Thursday. There were 2 "phases" of them, one when they were a kpop group and another when they became an actual band that played instruments. The most well known members are HyunA although she left the group early in their career (she co-wrote Hobgoblin, DC also danced to her song Bubble Pop recently), soloist HA:FELT (Ye-Eun), soloist Sunmi (who left the group before they went to the US then came back during their band phase), and rapper/soloist Yubin (who I've compared Dami to once). Maybe it also helps that they were Yoohyeon's favorite group and the ones who inspired her to become a singer. And she lurves Sunmi, it's so cute. lol

CLC is so iconic and so underrated! Black Dress, No, and Me are also great title tracks by CLC!

C'mon taste! Seungyeon is so underappreciated - great voice, great dancer, insane stage presence. All of CLC are amazing but she is definitely my bias. And, since you've checked out (G)-Idle, CLC and 2NE1 now, I think you might have to check out 4Minute, who were Cube's original girl group and often compared to 2NE1 when they were both active. I'd recommend Crazy, since it's a fan favourite, What's Your Name, which was one of their biggest hits in Korea, and maybe Volume Up.

Sorn has a KZfaq channel called "PRODUSORN" and has 2 videos where she reacts to CLC music videos by parodying reaction videos on KZfaq. Thought that was interesting enough to share.

The cat in the Hobgoblin video is representing us, their fandom. We are named "Cheshires", after the cat from Alice in Wonderland. It was awesome of them to put us in their MV! 😊 Especially since it's their change of concept one Btw don't worry if you don't like every song of theirs equally! CLC's strength is that every song has a unique song so naturally it's going to be impossible to like every single one. The fun part is seeing how they rock every style out ;)

Yeeun did the rap that you weren't a huge fan of, I actually love it (not sure why I just really like the way her voice is in it) and she kills the rap in Helicopter. Also Devil feels like it could've been a Red Velvet MV.

OMG you reacted CLC! They are so talented, but unfortunately a little bit underrated. They gained more recognition with NO or Black Dress (I think) in South Korea. For the next I recomend EXID, Berry Good, Gfriend and the duo Davich. Their vocals are so good and strong. EXID - I Love You, Up & Down and Ah Yeah; Berry Good - Angel, Don't Believe and Mellow Mellow; Gfriend - Me Gustas Tu, Apple and Crossroads; Davichi - Cry Again, Beside Me and Sorry I'm Happy.

They've been around for a while and never quite separated themselves from the crowd. In the last year or two they've started to get more notice and build momentum. They've always been a solid group with potential to be big but haven't in the past been able to create a distinct style or identity.

Personally CLC contains members that are in my top female dancers (Seungyeon) and rappers (Yeeun). I honestly LOVE their debut song Pepe and Yeeun rap in it, like it fits the cute concept!! Would definitely love watching you reach to more from them!

Your analysis of Hobgoblin versus Devil was super spot on. Hobgoblin was the comeback where they basically rebooted themself with a brand new girl crush concept. Since they were rebranding, the comeback was a lot more individualistic as it depicted the charms of the girls and basically set their new personas and styles. The rap section was less established because the rapper was still learning her style and flow and you can really see her development over the years as you mentioned. The 2NE1 influence may have come about from Hyuna. Hyuna was a member of 4minute, the major girl group of their label in the 2nd generation (the generation where 2NE1 dominated). Hyuna was placed in charge of CLC's rebooting which is probably why it borrows so much from 2nd gen. If you watch 4minute's "Crazy" you'll see a lot of similarities between their style and Hobgoblin's. Hyuna was also the mentor for the rapper which is why their rap styles (especially in the beginning) are similar.

You should totally check out NO by CLC, it got them their first win, and it some of the songs they’re well known for

Sometimes with cute voices it sounds like they coulnd´t control their voice, but Yujin sounds strong and cute at the same time.

"Hobgoblin" was almost like a turning point in CLC's career, like a literal turn. Like Dreamcatcher, they started off with a much cuter concept and then with Hobgoblin, they completely flipped it and did girl crush. In was kind of met with mixed response since it was a new image for them but at the same time, some people felt like CUBE Entertainment was trying to turn CLC in to 4Minute, their previous girl group who recently disbanded. Especially with Yeeun's rapping, it was in a similar style to 4Mintue Hyuna's rap style (she was her mentor). So "Hobgoblin" was kind of an expriament in a sense for CLC. They've definitely evolved and grown off that in to their own voice since then.

Yet another group for which I have the same favorite member as Sir Austin!! 🤝 Seungyeon's vocals, visuals, and dancing... are all amazing~ 💖 As others have recommended, some of their other recent songs, "Me", "No", "Black Dress", are really good! Sadly CLC doesn't have as many songs, for a kpop group that's been around for 5 years or so. 😔 Their releases prior to "Hobgoblin" had a drastically different style, more cutesy and innocent. Coincidentally, the comeback season of Januray 2017, when their musical style took a sharp turn with the release of "Hobgoblin", is the very same comeback season in which Minx re-debuted as Dreamcatcher!! 🤭 Also CLC started out in 2015 as a 5-memeber group I believe, and later on 2 members got added around February 2016. (again similar thing with Dreamcatcher) So the two groups have quite a lot in common when it comes to their history, so it adds even more to the bond they share! (which everyone else here has been mentioning)

There are tons of music videos so you can check their vocals, PEPE their debut song and Who are you is a nice choice to listen. other songs that has a girl crush concept, Me, No and Black Dress are wonderful too. :))

OOOOooo so I think you would really like the solo artist Lee Hi. She's amazing, her voice is just ugh so great! I think you would like her recent song HOLO. Other good tracks by her are breath (such an amazing song), rose ( I especially like the begin again perforce from this year), 1234 (again the begin again performance is amazing), but really all her songs are just *chefs kiss* and so is her voice 💕. She debuted when she was 16 and she's 24 now. :)

I really like CLC! You should check maybe “No” and “Me” (their best song in my opinion). They have really great bside too. They are under Cube (the same company of (G)I-dle) and they debut as 5 members. Since they debut, they did cute concept, but one day they comeback with Hobgoblin, and they get kinda big. But the problem is that their company put them on hiatus and comeback some months later with a cute concept. So the chance for them to become more big really said 📉. And the girls don’t even like cute concept so... Helicopter was released in September, and everyone was really excited since the last comeback was in September 2019 Their company kinda suck, but I’m sure that with better promotion they can get big like (G)I-dle.

Seungyeon's voice is balanced with yujin's high voice

You should hear Really Bad Guy, it was a soundtrack song for a tv show that the Main Vocalist Seunghee and Main rapper Yeeun did and you can hear a different sound to Seunghee's voice. Her talking voice is quite low but she tends to get high notes since she's the main vocalist. My favourite voice was her in the La Vie En Rose demo which was going to be their comeback after black dress but the song got sold to izone which meant clc didn't get to come back for a year :(

SeungYeon and Yujin are my biases! Yujin has the bright voice that you noticed. But CLC is a group like Mamamoo, you end up falling in love with each member because they're all so damn talented. It's a shame that Cube promotes (G)I-dle more because CLC has been around longer. Both SeungYeon and Yujin are great dancers too.
