Agree! Quite underrated (even though that term is overused in this case it fits). ✌

Hello sweet girls. I am retired now but i worked in the film industry for many years. One of the early films i was involved in was "Absolute Begginers" in about 1985. I was very fortunate to meet David Bowie. Such a lovely man and very ordinary. Greetings from Yorkshire UK. Tace care. John.x

@@neonskepetunije Hello girls.. Sorry for the late reply and thank you for your interest. I spent many years in Films and TV adverts as a Prop maker/Special effects engineer. At the time i had a workshop in Shepperton Studios where Absolute Begginers was made. They had lots of 1950's cars which i was asked to work on. There was a set where a huge Typewriter was being built that David Bowie was to dance on and he came in and asked if he could practice on it. That was when i met him. "Charming man!" Jon.x. Bowie is my favorite male solo artist. Brilliant song writer and vocalist. A huge variety of sounds. Always reinventing himself. They called him the Chameleon of Rock for a reason.

David Bowie is Art. When he died the exposition about his life works was temporarily at the Museum in my hometown of Groningen in The Netherlands. I can recommend the movie Labyrinth with David bowie. 😉 It is a movie for young and old by Jim Henson.

I would love to see you guys do a full Bowie discog deep-dive. So much of his music never gets played, despite a lot of it being really good (his later stuff is really good, especially The Next Day and Blackstar, as well as Reality, Outside, and Earthling). It's also just such a cool journey through a person's life; you can almost tell exactly what is going on in his life through each album. Which are your five favorite albums?
@neonskepetunije
@neonskepetunije 2 жыл бұрын
That'd be great! I know almost nothing after the "Hours" album. And my 5 favorite albums... it's hard to choose cause that changes all the time. I'd say Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, The Man Who Sold the World, Young Americans, and Low are my favorites at the moment.

Wonderful choices Deyana! Such different songs from different Bowie eras. And great observation Natalia, his voice does change so much! I love that you both liked We are the Dead. One of my all time favorites. Some of his darker work from Diamond Dogs. Keep up the great work Ladies! So much fun watching the younger generation appreciate this artist.

We are the Dead is 1984, you're right. It's Winston and Julia realising they're going to be caught, and are already as good as dead. "I hear them on the stairs...". Maybe.

"It's not the side effects of the cocaine. I'm thinking that it must be love..." One of the best lyrics ever written in rock history, IMO ! And I understand your reaction while listening to this album for the 1st time : the whole thing is a trip to another dimension, with no guarantee to ever come back (but is it really a bad thing ?...).
