In a letter dated 24 December 1991, Boris Yeltsin, the President of the Russian Federation, informed the Secretary-General that the membership of the Soviet Union in the Security Council and all other United Nations organs was being continued by the Russian Federation with the support of the 11 member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Although on 25 October 1971, the UN recognized the People's Republic of China (Beijing) as "the only legitimate representative of China to the United Nations" and removed "the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek" (referring to the Republic of China, whose central government had relocated to Taiwan from the mainland) from the United Nations. Taiwan is not a member of the United Nations (UN) or its suborganizations, but it aspires to participate. Beijing blocks Taiwan from becoming a member of the UN, claiming Taiwan as part of its territory and denies that Taiwan is a sovereign state.

@@franceyneireland1633 So you are saying that Boris Yeltsin waltzed into the UN waving a ticket that was not his and the gate keeper (The secretary general) did not notice. the ticket did not belong to the rightful holder? How did it happen that Boris Yeltsin "informed" the Secretary General? I would have expected the new nation Russia to apply for member ship and for the UN to decide if the new member was accepted. Tail wagging the dog here. But even then, if the new Russia was accepted into the UN that should not mean it gets a sweet on the security council.

@@j3kfd9j It's not clear to me that any "taking over" was required. A new state could make a new application. Which certainly would not give them a seat on the security council with veto powers. Ukraine had a large population and nukes as well. How come they did not get such a position? The current situation where a country that invades its neighbours destroys everything in sight and commits genocide has veto powers on the security council is absurd and disgusting.

It's because when the USSR was dissolved back then, Boris Yeltsin, the President of the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic (Russian SSR), the largest republic within the USSR, made a deal with the other republic within the USSR to dissolve it. They would regain their independence, and in return, they needed to support Russia as the official successors to the USSR in every aspect, including taking all of the USSR's debt, including the republic. So they all agree with Ukraine being one of the biggest contributors to the dissolution of the USSR. All of them give their vote and approval to the Russia SSR, or, as they now know, the Russia Federation, to take over the USSR spot in the UN and debt. There's a whole agreement and documents kept by Russia and the UN office with all the signs of all the USSR republics that gained their independence.

So after using shovels with washing machine chips against game changer wunderwaffens (exhibited in Red Squere) the unmotivated suffering Russian troops have such a bad situation on the battlefront that they are retreating toward Kyev. Also manpower problem is such a huge issue for Russia that authorities grab civils from the streets in Ukraine by the order of Zelensky to be sent to the frontline s, maybe to help the Russian to have a fair fight. @@alastairwallace6153 Mainly retaliate using asymmetric warfare: the economic sanctions emanating from the Twin Towers killed a lot of people; USS Vincennes shoots down a civilian airliner and we get the Locherbie disaster... things like that and they were done on a "shoestring budget". With 21st century weapons, the Strait of Hormuz is becoming a "Chicken Run" (and a lot of the world's oil supply goes through there); I really don't want to give people ideas (but one man throwing a spanner in the works can cause chaos). Dictators (King; Queens; Shahs; Sultans etc) held sway for a thousand years; democracy is a relatively new phenomenon (and if the rich can buy it, they do); but America has engineered some sixty-four(?!) regime change attempts, since 1950 (and that includes a number of democracies). We can look at the same thing in different ways; but currently representatives of around 80% of the world's population are not interested in the conflict in Ukraine; while China (who some in America wish to view as an enemy) already said, "Don't try to involve us in American power games! ...We have good trading relations with both Russia and Ukraine") so they are certainly not "with" the American Neo-cons on this and despite what our media tell us China and Taiwan are, put simply, different branches of the same political party. With reference to the OP... It was the globalists in the EU that sanctioned themselves out of relatively cheap Russia commodities; the foreign corporations that took control of Ukrainian agriculture and likely a gas pipeline (plus all the "charity" from EU and America, who are not known to be charitable) that provoked war (and not for the first time). It might be the wrong time to mention I wouldn't trust my government to run a bath and I believe the real enemy is within. (It's the rich persons club we aren't in). (and I fully expect this comment to be deleted) Have a nice day!

No, he is visiting N. Korea to sign defense pact as a revenge and a warning against S. Korea and Japan for sending weapons to Ukraine. Russia is the world 10 largest producer of Uranium, and Russia will gladly break the nuclear agreement if they felt desperate enough. That defense pact is a warning to Japan and South Korea. As for Vietnam? One of the countries that is on the US list. US sent a warning to Vietnam made it clear enough.

Russia has surplus food and Oil. North Korea has a million + Army, weapons, and is handy to poke US. This is a Win-Win for both.

How on earth did Ukranians reach Russians in the Golan Heights
@snakebite8925
@snakebite8925 6 күн бұрын
Quite simple, every where Russian mercenaries are training new personell in Syria and a few other African states, the Ukraine special forces are trying to target these Russians. This is going since Russia attacked the Ukraine. Search here on you tube and you will find it and see it.

@@petergreen5337Not 1982 but earlier than that. Infact the Isreali forces were at the outskirts of Damacus and a one step closer to conquer the whole of Syria and Lebanon and even Eygpt but the UN stop them with a promise of a long lasting peace.
