“All of this progressivism that Hollywood is so proud of itself about and how woke it thinks it is, is actually a kind of reverse racism.”
Hollywood’s “strict ideologies” has caused reverse wokeness and reverse progressivism in the industry, American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis tells #TimesRadio.

I doubt either one of them would be interested. Ellis isn’t exactly someone that anyone is rushing to work with or adapt his work. He’s mostly just coasting on his early success.

The phrase “reverse racism” implies that racism is acceptable flowing in one direction and anything contrary to that is completely unacceptable. They’re telling on themselves. They always do. Let me get out a tiny violin and play a tune for poor, put-upon Bret Easton Ellis. He’s been through so much.

Cute, but the left has been pushing the idea that only white people can be racist for at least 30 years. Thus, in light of that cultural nugget, "reverse racism" becomes a somewhat useful term, sadly.
@s.fleming2441
@s.fleming2441 Жыл бұрын
Actually reverse racism as he put it and is understood to be reverse racism is well intentioned actions that still reveal a kind of prejudice. Its said this way because racism is overtly negative normally. . These are not identical and reverse racism isn't racism flowing in an unusual direction. That probably just what was fed to you, part of the infantilization he was mentioning. So then you may put your own violins away now.

There is no such thing as reverse racism, just racism, and no particular race owns it. In fact I am sick of racism being the original sin - it’s tribalism and tribalism is not just about race, it’s the mindset that puts religion against religion, political view against political view, football team against football team.

I'd consider 'woke' to not only be the act of becoming aware of social and political issues, but to also act upon this awareness. With that, it enters the political space as it isn't necessarily agnostic in how to address these issues. Would you disagree with that?
