At low rpm the sound reminds me of a old two cylinder John Deere. I would love to find an engine like that one.

Why buy an engine such as this now when there are smaller more modern engines with far more horse power? That said the Lister 12/2 is a beautiful engine and always will be.

Smaller engines have to run faster to get more horsepower, and running faster causes faster wear. It's a tradeoff -- I'd never consider one of these for a motorcycle, for example, but for home power or charging home power batteries, I do have one. They can be very reliable.

☝️, and efficient in comparison to the 3600 rpm screamers. I’d love to have one.

indeed, because they last 10x longer more fuel efficient more reliable..by a LOT

They could become the heart of an electricity/heat co-generation unit providing off grid light and heat to a remote location using waste cooking oil as fuel. Over the years I have given this way too much thought but life did not provide the opportunity.
