in my understanding the "GALOPS" were burn-out pieces at the end of a concert evening during the golden piano (romantic) era in the 19th century...🤗😏☺😉

#5 is more of a canter than a gallop. #2, beautifully read by the incomparable Georges Cziffra, was crystal clear and the tempo was superb. All of the galops were immensely enjoyable! Thank you for this post.

OMG, I know that human hands can do amazing things but the music of Liszt and others sometimes defy human limitations. I hope this music was a real person and not a robot. OMG, OUTSTAND VIRTUOSITY IF IT WAS A HUMAN

For the most amazing, which are the first two, you can hear some very insignificant missnoting on the trills on the first, and in the second, there's a video of Cziffra playing it "Cziffra live grand galop chromatique"

Clidat's version of the first Galop in this compilation (A Minor) is unbelievable. Cziffra provides a simply legendary version of the second.

aw, i've never heard most of these and it's a pity! They're so charming :D I love the Grand Galop Chromatique, it's a real showstopper, but the other ones are so cute :3 especially the russian one.

I would say it tests the pianist more than the piano. I think that Cziffra might have been playing this on a Yamaha.

The first galop in A is one of my all-time favorite Liszt pieces. its a shame there's only like 3 recordings of it.

S. 220 directly cites material from the end of his waltz S. 214/1.

Not exactly, Galop de Bal cannot be cited from S.214/1 cause that set was written and published ~1852 and Galop de Bal was published in 1840. However, an earlier version of S.214/1 (S.209) was published in 1835 and it has that same thing at the end, so Galop de Bal is based off of that.

Repent and trust in Jesus. we deserve Hell for our sins. For example lying, lusing, saying God's name as a cuss word and stealing our just some examples of sin which we can all admit to doing at least one of those. For our sin we deserve death and Hell, but there is a way out. Repent anf trust in Jesus and you will be saved. Repentence is turning from sin. So repent and trust in Jesus. He will save you from Hell, and instead give you eternal life in Heaven. John 3:16 Romans 3:23❤😊❤😊😊❤

I prefer Galop Marquis. These make me dizzy and make my stomach hurt. I had to pull myself to listen to the 1st Galop. It just sounds like noise. Liszt wrote better pieces than this. I understand that these were show pieces but man. I only can take so much at once.

Did you know that liszt is considered to be the forefather of Impressionism? And he invented the symphonic poem, which resulted to pieces like "prelude a l'après midi d'un faune" by Debussy one of his greatest works. How could he possibly not have been a great composer?
