The Litany of the Saints (Latin: Litaniæ Sanctorum) is a formal prayer of the Catholic Church (especially of the Roman Catholic Church). It is a prayer to the Triune God, which also includes invocations for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Angels and all the martyrs and saints upon whom Christianity was founded, and those recognised as saints through the subsequent history of the church. Following the invocation of the saints, the Litany concludes with a series of supplications to God to hear the prayers of the worshippers. It is most prominently sung during the Easter Vigil, All Saints' Day, and in the liturgy for conferring Holy Orders.
The Litany of the Saints is one of the oldest prayers in continuous use in the Catholic Church. Forms of it were used in the East as early as the third century, and the litany as we know it today was largely in place by the time of Pope St. Gregory the Great (540-604). The exact list of saints has varied over time and geographical area. The form given on video is a long standing traditional form of the Litany.

Tears in my eyes when i heard this as a child in the 60s attending Catholic school I was taught to sing Latin by our nuns and Fr Okros. RIP! 😭😭😭 this is the real medication that I need, I play the litania while working, and it take my mind into peaceful places, I cry like a baby lolz. It says my son name Ioanes Baptists and it even makes me more cry. Pray for my son, he was a premature baby boy, now he's two goin on to three, he got a tracheostomy to help him breath, and a feeding tube on his tummy for him to have milk. Born Catoliko, I myself is a practice Catoliko, thank you for uploading this. Love from the N.Zealand

@@iwogajda5253 Yes, thank you! I am familiar with St Faustina's Diary. I just thought, perhaps, the door of Mercy is more metaphorical than it is actual, and as such might be a difficulty? I pray, therefore, that Our beloved Saviour holds my hand in this life and beyond so that I may not be lost. Also, I pray for intercessions of All Saints as named in the litany above. Please, glorious St Sebastian, guide me with thy arrows, help me overcome the obstacles in my life that, indeed, resembles a severe obstacle course. Amen

What is a prayer? When you pray to saints, it is not to worship them or treat them like a god, but to ask them if they could pray for us to God.. Just as you would ask any living human. They are closer to God now than any of us on earth in sin, so their prayer might be more powerfull then ours. It is not a sin to ask someone to pray to God for you, is it? Ofcorse, when you pray to God, it is different, it is to worship him as he is above of every creation.

WONDERFUL Litany to be said at midnight sharp from protection. It stops any demonic intruders . I remember my Grandmother used to say it twice a week on certain days during the week if you cannot stay late to say it out your phone next to your bed and play it. A very powerful Litany said in Latin!

We don't question Gods purpose, rather sympathize with the pain associated with purification of our spirit. Please Enlighten the minds of all your children on Earth, so we will truly understand that you created us in your image. Strengthen your chosen ones, so that they shine even brighter in the world! I’m listening from Brea, California and the first time I heard the litany of the stance. Saints were at a few ordinations of priest and that’s when I learned to love the litany so much it’s beautiful and I too am proud to be a Catholic Jesus Mary and Joseph, I love you safe souls.
