Update: It’s almost exactly 2 years from the Paris Olympics, and she’s working with Valeri Liukin, the dad and coach of Olympic All-Around gold medalist Nastia Liukin. She is in a very good spot right now and I think she has what it takes to win that All-Around gold medal!

Update on this little girl: She just won a huge national-level competition by a huge margin. It's called the Hopes competition. She really is going to make a world or Olympic team in a few years.

Lisa Vega I would hope so. I guess the only barrier is that HOPES and JE comps are scored differently, but she definitely is good enough.

CupcakeMeetsHamster Hopes and Elite are scored the same, to the best of my knowledge. It's Junior Olympics that is scored differently from Elite/Hopes. She actually scored a 15.0 on beam at the Hopes Classic a couple weeks ago! She got a 55 AA score, and the 2nd place girl got a 52.

Honestly though 2024 is a completely realist goal for Konnor. If you look up videos of her actual gymnastics (and not just her elite compulsory beam routine), she's an incredibly talented kid and she has so much potential. Also to those saying Simone is better, of course Simone is better??? Konnor is 11 and Simone is 19 with a wealth of international experience. Konnor hasn't had the time Simone has, but I fully believe Konnor will be a big name in the coming years.

Great job. If Konnor continues practicing she will win big at Olympics when it's her time. Practice always makes perfect. A lot of adults could learn a thing or two from this little girl and that is that WORK has a lot of benefits. Work gives one a sense of accomplishment, self-respect, determination, success and maturity. Konnor is going to go far when her attitude and love for what she's doing. Good luck Konnor. You are more disciplined than most adults today.

Best gymnast in the country is a little extreme. I mean she's amazing but I could easily name several gymnasts who are better. She didn't even do any back handsprings or back layouts so 2024 olympics is a stretch.

Katherine Holmes you're not allowed to do difficult skills on TV because they don't have all the proper safety equipment. She won the HOPEs championship this year. I'm sure she can do bhs but I'm not 100%

She did what's called an Elite Compulsory Routine, it has a bunch of super easy basic skills in it, she has way more potential and skills to show, but she didnt want to go all out and end up falling or something

Seriously u all need to stop comparing this kid to Whitney Bjerken she is much better technically she is a HOPES gymnast and is the best in the country for her age her form and overall technique is much better she won the 2016 Hopes Championship in the AA BB VT and UB as well as coming 2nd on FX she was also 2nd in the AA in the previous year as well she is capable of much more difficulty than this but it is watered down choreography because she is on tv and doesn't want to make any large mistakes I mean Simone did the same thing when she performed on Ellen she is one of the best around for her age so stop comparing her to another gymnast who is competing level 9 just on premise that she is more "popular" or has more social media followers

Guys please, do you really think she can't do anything more? Also I'm dying of laugh of the comments about Whitney, Annie, Katie. 😂😂 Plz. Whitney is the closest one, maybe she could beat Konnor at some things but she *isn't* better than her. Katie is good but just a level 9, while Konnor is 10/elite. So how Katie can be better??? Annie-plz kill me, she's terrible compared to Konnor. She's just a level 9, hovewer idk how, she can't even do kip correctly. Plus she has lower start values on every event, becouse she can't get her skills. She had 7s and 8s at her first meet and I honestly don't think she'll back to 9s this season. Not with this form.

Sophia Lusk Annie was not as good as Whitney when she was actually doing gymnastics. Just because Annie lost a brother shouldn’t give her an excuse. Also, Whitney and Konnor kinda are on the same level of skills, I think they’ll both make it.

Ozymandias false.there are a lot of very talented black gymnast that aren't popular or exposed like a lot of these european or asian gymnast. anyway,let's say for arguments sake most gymnast are eastern european or asian that wouldn't change the fact that this young lady is supposedly the best gymnast in the country

+phantom2k10 As a parent this is what we do to our kids to have useful activities after school and don't neglect them. The new generation deserves better life. This girl will go further and will have a great future. Good luck to her. She is amazing indeed!!!:)

shes not the best 11 year old gymnast. shes nothing compared to Whitney burkjen and any of the girls on gym school

T.E. Gilsrud she's better than some of the girls at gym school lol and I don't think Whitney has her front aerial on beam but I agree she's not the best 11 year old gymnast

Search Konnor Mcclain on youtube (that's the gymnast above) and you'll see how good she really is, don't get me wrong I think Whitney Burkjen is amazing but she's not as good as Konnor Mcclain

Anna Elizabeth DeCleene my 9 year old is much better than her. She is slower than my 9 year old and she thinks too much. You have to go into each element right away, you don't get a lot of time during routines.

+Mackenzie Rose Just caue your daughter is faster does NOT mean shes better. Thats like saying 'she finished the test faster shes better'. Like no it depends on who got more questions right. Konnor's technique is flawless. I doubt your NINE year old is better

Emily Hamm do you even know anything about gymnastics. if you don't connect, you get deductions and your score goes down, making you not as good. stay in your lane if you don't know what you're talking about lmao.
