Got a chance to run and review a brand new Takeuchi TB235-2 and I was super impressed with it, in particular the smoothness and power it has. The main thing I didn't like (for me and my application) was the large tail swing that comes out over the side of the tracks. Other than that there is a lot to like about this machine!

have owned a Takeuchi 235-2 for three months now doing concrete flatwork demoing driveways and block retaining walls. i like it because of the skinny 5'-2" wide stance and a dig depth 10' 7.8' You do get a tail for counterweight. but it can fit in smaller areas. also has impressive specs for bucket break out force with 9100lbs with being hydraulic over hydraulic. we also have a 17" 304cr E2 Cat mini Ex with 41hp and the 235-2 holds its own. The 304cr E2 does have noticeably more power if you think there are close to being equal, because there are not, even if specs say they are close in some area there are not. 25hp is still 25hp and 41hp is still 41hp. For 90% of the jobs we do, both machines would work the same. I bought the 235-2 because of its size and most importantly no dam EMMISSIONS. Wanted a machine that burnt less fuel and ran freely

Looked at a TB240 $66k and TB250 $72k today, but this TB235 seems about perfect for what I’m looking for . Primarily for personal land use. I’m going to hit my local dealer up and ask about this model.

Thanks for the mention man! Yeah all the Takeuchis are very smooth and they are quick due to the true pilot controls no electric over hydraulic stuff. I believe the left button on the right stick activated the auto idle too after you hit that button. Some of the things are a bit different in the 235 vs the 260. My thumb are on the right joystick. Great review too and I’m glad you liked it. They are actually coming out with a 235 zero tail swing late this year or early next. It’s in the prototype stage right now but I’m suppose to get it for two weeks this summer to run it and give my thoughts. I’ll send you some pictures. Great video buddy! 👍🏻

No problem, you're very welcome! A 235 zero tail would be super sweet! Can't wait to see it in action, I am glad they are sending it out to the field to let experienced operators get their hands on it and send them some feedback so they can make it the best machine possible! Thank for watching! 😃

Nice video and review. I'm currently waiting on my new TB260 fitted with the NOX Tilt Rotator to show up. I plan to do a full review when it shows up as well. I just sold my 2010 TB235 about 3 weeks ago. Can't wait to get it here. I love Takeuchi.

Can you post a link of your review on the TB260? I'm currently renting a TB230. Everyone loves it. 6,400 pound machine, but it's got more power than the John Deere zero tail 35G we rented on same job. The conventional tail swing plus Takeuchi's bucket breakout force makes a big difference. I'm looking at getting a TB 240 and putting the tilt rotator on it, curious how it would do. They are 6 months out. I can get a Sany 35U or Sany 50 U in the meantime but the specs aren't as strong. But they are zero tail of course. It has pros and cons

Nice comments about the Taki. I’m looking at the KX0 40-2 and the TB240. So which do you like as far as control the hydraulic like the Kabota or the electronic over hydraulic like the Takeuchi has? What size is your Kabota a 57?
@idigit4967
@idigit4967 9 ай бұрын
Both are solid machines. The Kubota is probably a little faster overall and tracks a little better, the Tak is probably a bit slower overall but more digging strength and smoother controls. The Tak has a little better cab in my opinion. Kubota will be better on price and their in house insurance plan is second to none.
@jamesstatham239
@jamesstatham239 9 ай бұрын
@@idigit4967 Actually the Taki is $19k less than the Kabota. Plus that includes the thumb 13”, a 24” and a 36” grading bucket. Thanks for the replies. The Takeuchi is looking pretty sweet.

@williambryant5946
@williambryant5946 3 жыл бұрын
First thing I'd do is find that beeper and smash it, well unplug it anyway. I run large grading equipment and we got our beepers with plugs where you can reach in and disconnect them. If we are working on a commercial job or in a rock quarry we plug them up but other than that they are unplugged. I turned the volume down on this video cause it was so loud. Hate them things. Sounds like you're ready to trade that Kubota excavator in for a Takeuchi now as much praise as you gave it. LOL! Stay well. -Wil 👍
@idigit4967
@idigit4967 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I talked to the owner yesterday and he wants that beeping gone too! He doesn't like it at all LOL! I do like this machine, there are some things about it that are superior to the Kubota. If I could get a 260 with a reduced tailswing and not the conventional tailswing I'd highly consider it in the future but I really like the reduced tail swing of the U55 and the fact that I don't really have to worry about the tail hitting something when I slew around. But the TB260 specs out better than the U55 all around, more digging power and more aux flow to run attachments!

Yeah I found it the other day when I ran it again, I didn't really like it there on the right joystick and that's one small thing about this machine I didn't like. On the Kubota the 2 speed is on the joystick for the blade so you can easily go between high and low speed when dozing and backfilling which is really convenient.

You definitely could use one but you would have to get close to the edge of that ditch and I just wasn't comfortable with that. One wrong move and you could go sliding in and that is a deep ditch. Plus, the woodline on the other side of the ditch is very close to the ditch, you wouldn't have much room to back up to drag the material away from the edge.

Cant beat smooth controls in takeuchi, doesn't Matter what model you operate they all feel pretty much the same. Problem with kubota all models feel different. U35 is slow , kx033 is slow , u 55 is to fast and unpredictable. Weak slew force . Kx057 is to fast and unpredictable. Kx040 is somewhere in the middle.
