Hi ya Chris tip from a fellow struggler to find drain on struggle bus i learned from an old fella many years ago when i was an apprentice that ive never forgot disconnect the earth lead on battery and put a test light between disconnected earth lead and earth terminal on battery and start disconnecting things till the light goes out 9 out of 10 times it's something with a permanent live to it. my car had the same problem and turned out to be the alternator good luck and keep the videos coming mate

You can actually use a volt meter to figure out what fuse current is flowing trhough. Meter needs to read milivolts (Most do) and you just read across the tabs (each side) of fuse. Fuses that show 0mv drop will not be the issue. The fuses that show MV will be the one that has the drain. Eric O from South Main Auto Channel has many videos on the subject.

Hi Chris sorry to hear of you loss of the dog mate. Just a tip mate when I have tight hydraulic fittings like you had on that hose I give the nut side of the fitting a smack with a hammer 9 time out of 10 it then cracks off easy. I was told this trick many years ago by the old boys when I was on wagons. For old style compression fittings on old truck air pipes. 1/ it saves rounding the nut part of it. 2/ saves the owd knuckles battering the object your pushing against. Keep up the videos and Everyday we are struggling 🤣🤣

Thats always the test for me - the sausage and egg barm, cob, breadcake depending which side of the Pennines you live on. My partner had a fiat that drained the battery it is a common fault the glove box switch goes faulty and the light stays on all the time - drive safe

Quicker way to test parasitic draw is disconnx the neg from the batt. Put multi meter between batt and neg. Check draw in high amp mode. If draw remove fuses one at a time till draw stops.

Some of the cab tilt pump tops have a vent hole.... so when over filled it squurts out the hole... and when it does its always at you bollox when it does

Put a light bulb in line with the positive on the battery and take fuses out till it goes out or dim. If it's lit brightly something is drawing current. You can also use a multimeter but be careful not to crank the engine or you'll blow the internal fuse in the meter

Volt meter onto battery with key off , start ripping fuses till it drops , be a 5 minute job with 2 people. Sorry about your dog lost 2 of ours a few months ago.

You need a clamp amp meter around the + on the battery. See how many amps are being drawn with ignition off. Then remove fuses until the draw drops on the meter.

Chris it's probably ur sterling alternator controller ther pile of poop stop battery charging propperly altering the voltage of alternator so looks like its charging well when it's not then kill the batteries aswell

Chris man disconnect earth on battery and connect multimeter to battery on one end and the battery lead on other end and you will have a reading in amps. Anything over .85 of an amp is too much but I’d imagine yours will be quite high so pull fuses one by one until it drops to normal level. It’s dead handy and it’ll save you a lot of time. I’d the same thing on an X5 before and I had four amp draw and I pulled fuse for the module that was causing problem and dropped straight away. It was a wet module for the radio or aerial or something like that down in rear quarter panel, can’t remember exactly what it was for

chris look at you live lead on the battery as it might have a bit of damage touching the metal on the van as this happened to me

Be careful pulling them fuses , seen a few blown ecu's from people pulling random fuses 😄.

Chris,im sure you re connected your 240v system few episodes ago,you did say then you had disconnected it ages ago as it was draining the battery,maybe its playing up on an intermitent basis?.

Instead of taking a cup out every morning to the van, sorry struggle bus, why don’t you get a thermos mug from like of Costa or Starbucks and fill that up with coffee or tea, and not only will it stay warm with the lid shut the contents of the cup won’t spill on the floor of the struggle bus and make it all sticky

Doubt it's a parasitic drain, your battery is shagged. The whining noise, I only get that when the GF is in the van, maybe a coincidence.

Hydraulic quick release couplings…(Q.R.C.’s),there are 2different “series” that are very similar to look at and it you didn’t really look hard you’d never spot the difference….and they don’t mate with each other….but as you said…yours was probably just f..ked, keeps strugglin fella.
