Linda tells a story at a Atlanta concert she did when she was in Atlanta. She sees this band that was incredible and she instantly fell in love with the lead singer and slide guitar player they had a weeklong affair until Lowell George’s wife showed up at her doorstep and told Linda who she was Linda said I didn’t know he was married.

Love you guys and I’m a HUGE LITTLE FEAT FAN since 1974 with the debut of Feats Don’t… and became a die hard fan and they IMMEDIATELY became my favorite American rock band. I agreed with Jimmy Page without knowing. I know you love Linda but did you check out any other artists that sat in the studio for their first album? It was Ry Cooder. If you want to have a great time and listen to one the the top 10 guitarists in the world. You’ll notice his influence on Lowell with slide techniques and different types of open tuning. He, like Linda also got into Mexican music and teamed with Flaco Jimenez. This will take a several week dive into researching the roots of Ry (lol he’s from Santa Monica) but learned at a young age how to use 3 finger picking along with open tuning. This was before he was the age of 14. I guess it really helps when a young guy into music hangs out in a guitar store in Santa Monica in the late 1950s-60s. Please start with Into The Purple Valley and just go from there. He made his living writing the soundtracks for George Hill movies. There’s much more to learn about him especially when played as a session player for all the LA artists. You’ll be amazed and exceptionally happy I requested this. Have fun on this deep dive and please understand I love Americana (as I think you both do) and will thank me later for this. Much love and respect for you both

Oh I forgot to tell you that I actually got to see Linda Ronstadt just before the Stone Poneys broke up for about 5 seconds and she actually said hi and waved to a group of 3 infatuated 14 year olds and I fell in love and followed both her and the Eagles from that point forward. That was a thrilling 5 seconds of my life I’ll never forget. Oh, and by the way, I didn’t even go to her concert. My Xtian minister father said no but a group of us got away from a teen meeting of some sort and went to the parking lot of the auditorium they played at. If you want to fact check me it was at Briggs Auditorium at Phillips University in Enid OK. I think I was with Micheal Hedges at the time. My date my be a bit fuzzy but I think it was 1968. Do yourself a favor and one of you check out Michael Hedges when either of you have some time. I met him at the age of 13-14 and got to witness his development over the years as we became friends as our fathers were also friends. Anyway I just wanted you to know I had a 5 second encounter with who became my one of my favorite artists. And the fact that she was incredibly pretty and wholesome, made me love her even more

I attended two of Linda’s concerts during the 70’s. Little Feat opened for her at one of them. She was quite close with Lowell George of LF and recorded one of his songs “Willin’” which appears on her breakthrough Heart Like a Wheel album. She has, in my opinion, the most beautiful voice on the planet. Please check out her live version of “Down So Low”. It will melt you into a puddle. Love your channel 🌺✌️

Little Feats 'Waiting For Columbus' (Live Album) shows their fantastic range of talent and songwriting. Great songs like 'Spanish Moon,' 'Oh Atlanta,' the killer version of 'Mercenary Territory,' and 'Time Loves a Hero.' I believe you and the Bright Angel Lex would enjoy the live version of 'Spanish Moon.' Lowell George was a big fan of Mexico and Mexico City.

A couple of years ago, Little Feat played a series of concerts in smaller venues around the U.S. that recreated the live album "Waiting for Columbus" from start to finish. Saw that concert in Charlotte, NC. Was a great concert although a bit loud.

Speaking of Little Feat's album covers, they were all done by an artist named Neon Park. They had a sort of fantasy and dream like quality. "The Last Picture Show" was one of my favorite LF studio efforts, but my favorite version of "All That You Dream" is from their live album "Waiting For Columbus". Love Kenny Gradney's Bass line in this song.

When you are a huge Feat fan, you cringe when you hear Ronstadt do this song and Willin! We saw the here in MA for at least the 100th time. After the Feat finished yet another Killer version of Willin, we lamented to each other that Ronstadt's version is the version most people know.

Linda contributed her voice to over 120 + albums from other artists, and rightly so, her talent was amazing and more times than not her version of the song was better than the original, Love the Music!!!

I think Lex as Linda for next Halloween is a spectacular idea! She had four iconic looks: 1. Her Daisy Mae look for the early country songs, 2. Many outfits for her rock concerts, but the most famous was a Cub Scout uniform, 3. Her Mariachi dresses, and 4. The chiffon dress she wore for the Nelson Riddle albums. Great reaction! P.S. To be accurate, a few of the original Eagles were briefly Linda’s backup band - but not for long. She was never “in” The Eagles.

I have a collection of Linda's albums produced by Peter Asher (of Peter & Gordon, and the brother of Jane Asher of Beatle lore), and they have their share of Little Feat songs on them! My favorite is "Roll Um Easy" on Linda's Prisoner In Disguise album, with some nice guitar work by Lowell George!

I think your somewhat confused this is the original version by Little feat from their 1975 album " The Last Record Album " Linda Ronstadt was not on this recording, however she did record her own version as you described a few years later. After the sad passing of Lowell George in 1979 the band put together a tribute album of mostly live tracks called " Hoy-Hoy " released in 1981 where a number of artists were invited to join the band on stage including Linda, who performed " All that you dream " recorded at the Forum in 1979 and later included on the album.

Almost all of Linda’s songs were covers. She wrote “Try Me Again” with Andrew Gold, and a few Mexican songs. She doesn’t consider herself a songwriter, but rather an interpreter of others great songs. Try Me Again is a great song.

When I had this song on my "70's Rock Marathon" on Mar.3/23, (with C.S.N.& Young and Jackson Browne, etc.), I had you react to the original version from the album, which doesn't have Linda Ronstadt on it. For some reason, Spotify replaced the album version with this one, so I had to choose the one on KZfaq. The reason for that was that this live version doesn't include the piano solo, which was one of my favourite parts of the Little Feat album. They put a short delay on the piano solo, which made it sound like the piano runs could have been doubled by an excellent guitarist, and the album cover listed John Hall (from the band Orleans) as a guitarist on the song - so I ended up checking out his solo releases before realizing it was just a delay I was hearing. On some earlier Feat albums like "Dixie Chicken" you will hear Bonnie Raitt on background vocals. Her use of compressors to add sustain to her slide guitar style was due to Feat's Lowell George's influence.
