Little Gem Magnolia - Fragrant Evergreen Dwarf Tree - In this video I go over Little Gem Magnolias. It is a dwarf southern Magnolia that is widely used. It can reach 25+' over a long period of time. Little Gem has beautiful two tone evergreen foliage and super fragrant large white flowers.

Thank you so much for covering this tree. I love your channel. You make the information easy to understand and you cover it in a manner than a novice like me can follow. Your explanation of dwarf vs giant helped tremendously. Almost bought a giant and I would have planted it too close to the house. Glad I saw this before I made a huge mistake. Thanks again. *now off to the obsession nandina...*

Grow good in Southern New Jersey farther north make sure to plant spring or early summer give plenty of time to grow root in and gradually acclimate to colder temperatures to colder temperatures in the winter. Also be careful.of wet heavy snow breaking branches when they are small . Shake it off can help. Once they get larger and fuller it's not a problem

Its pretty big and i believe that the previous owner planted it too close to the neighbors fence line and now they want me to cut it down,im having a hard time bc its beautiful and it looks really healthy 😢😢 my son&husband do also complain about the little pine cones when they mow the yard 😢but its a beautiful tree with beautiful leafs and flowers.

Greetings Jim. I live in south Florida have two little gem Magnolia that I planted approximately 2 months ago. They are about 5’ and since I purchased them they both had left over flower blooms which over time they should become the seed pods. Should O leave them alone or cut them. I don’t want them to take energy away from tree growth. Please make more videos. Maybe pruning and fertilizing. Thanks

Just planted 2 of these about 3wks ago. 30 gallon, about 5ft tall. I've already had one flower spring up. I've been watering daily... Should I be doing daily, or less? And how much water each time ? I feel like the leaves look a little droopier lately.

I bought two little gems for the corner of my lot it is about a 8-ft 10-ft space at the corner of my fence. I noticed you said they're slow growers I bought it from a grower that container grows the whole life of the plant how fast would these grow to fill that space 10 years?

When is the best time to plant a little gem? I have a spot ready for one, but I’ve read different things. With it being summer now, can I plant in say September? I’m in Texas (zone 8b) and it’s HOT, but we can also get cold weather in the winter.

well I must of gotten a true dwarf because the one I have is still only 6 feet tall have had it over 10 years and it flowers beautifully sometimes twice, it is planted next to the house, (needs protecting in the winter which it gets). my braken brown beauty is furthur fromthe house in three years has grown from five feet to almost nine feet so pretty. it did not flower last year for some reason guess it wanted to put all energy into growth. is that normal?

So you said that they are hardly from zones 7 - 10. I am zone 9b in Arizona. I want to plant a Magnolia tree. I have 10 acres so I have room for even the giant Magnolia. But it gets hot in my desert acreage. You said that they need full sun, but I am not sure they would like my full sun. What do you think? Could I grow one in my area? Oh, and my soil is silt mostly.
