@@Fatlosergaming I'm sorry but how exactly is supervision supposed to help? It's 16 feet of pure muscle. What would this man do if (God forbid) that snake started to squeeze the life out of his daughter? Pull it off? Not happening. That snake could very easily kill him if the mood took it. It's a cold blooded solitary predator. In the wild it would spend it's entire life from egg to grave alone, hunting things smaller than it and fighting or fleeing from things bigger than it. It's not in it's nature to form socail bonds.

Well people sometimes underestimate kids' natural understanding that it's an animal. Some children do know from the start that animals should be respected and handled carefully, you don't really need to do much teaching. Not all kids are loud, obnxious and hyperactive wrecks. Even though this is pretty old by now, it’s incredibly admirable that this father is so well educated with his snake and makes sure the snake and his daughter are both safe with each other. He completely respects the snake and taught her how to do the same. At the same time, this cements the fact that when she grows up she won’t find snakes terrifying in the slightest. Most people do not get to experience this type of bond with a snake. They learn to fear them and I’m so proud of this father and his daughter for the love they have of Cher.

When I was younger, my family actually bred and sold reptiles. We used to have hundreds of different snakes, lizards and turtles. My brothers and I were taught at a very young age which snakes we could handle by ourselves and which were off limits unless my Dad was around. We learned to respect all the animals and never had one incident ever... The key to being responsible with snakes is handling them every day so that they are used to humans, be careful handling them when they are shedding because theyre basically blind at that point, and ALWAYS wash your hands after handling their food.

Well that brings up an interesting question. Is a well socialized captive bred python like this still considered a “wild animal” or would it be considered a “domesticated animal” like dogs or cats? I’d posit that it’s neither. That instead it is a “tamed” animal. Not truly “wild” and not really “domesticated” but a bit in between. The snake trusts it’s owners and lives comfortably with them. Snakes are pretty simple creatures. When their needs are met and they aren’t under any stress, they can be quite lovely pets depending on the species and individual.

Absolutely lovely to see this gentle giant being sweet with her little human friend. It brings images from The Jungle Book to mind. I think since most of the videos of big snakes we see are feeding videos, and their hunting abilities are so fascinating, they do get a bad image. Also because some collectors and handlers have died either because they failed to implement safety protocols, or because they failed to cultivate the trust that this owner emphasizes. I’m skeptical of most animal videos because it’s too easy to exploit creatures that can’t talk. But this person has obviously put a lot of time and love into raising a happy, healthy snake and a happy healthy child.

No, kids are crazy if their parents are. If the kid has a specific personality it's parents responsibility to be even more involved in child's life and teach them, educated them. But 90% of the parents don't feel responsible for their children, cause they are scared shitless

It's a really beautiful creature and the little girl is lovely. The father seems to have looked at it from all angles and has worked it out safely for her. There's no real reason for her to be afraid of the snake. Just be cautious, gentle and aware. 🌍🧡

You can tell how responsible he is with the statement about how she can’t feed the snake. Reptiles generally aren’t aggressive with humans once they trust us, but their food instincts are strong, and they’ll get aggressive then not because they don’t like you but because they only care about the food in that moment.

Yes, that makes this insidiousness completely acceptable. NOT.

That's true about most wild animals. People who have too much love for animals may risk their lives but then don't weep when (and IF) you go the Charla Nash way.

@@Maxbps88 If an strong adult is always present when she's with the snake it's not really an issue. The key is to never leave a child alone with a snake that could overpower them. I'm guessing you know nothing about snakes do you?

@@Riscs Nah an Adult can unwrap a constrictor like that from someone else if they know what they're doing. The concern is if you get wrapped by yourself and there's no one to help unwrap you. Generally any constrictor above about 12 ft it's always good to have two people present when you're handling it just in case.

Giant noodle living his best life. Respect is the base for all interactions. Sad that humans forgot that it is also the same with another human being. Respect in boundaries, understanding about the need and the difference between two species. Teaching to kids that sometimes, animals are not in the mood to play or being pet, and they must respecting that and their sleeping time, and never forget that even tamed or domesticated, animals still have strong instincts and unexpected reactions. (in fact, we missed the warning signs because we do not have the same language.) And that kids can sure interact with their "uncommon" pet, but only with a adult supervision, and never go by themselves to the terrarium/vivarium/kennel/etc. And you obtained the best recipe possible to a marvelous interaction with all type of animals.
