It's great to see a child actor be so content as a grown woman, no drugs, no jealousy no stupid reality shows. Melissa Sue Anderson is a true professional, although i didn't know that it was her that chose to write herself out of the show because of her blind character situation. I still like and admire Mellissa Sue Anderson.

Brilliant Lady! She also did alot of "Outside Projects". Happy Birthday To Me, James At 15, with Lance Kerwin and an ABC Afterschool Special. Linwood Boomer did well for himself on Malcolm In The Middle. She was even a Dance Judge on Dance Fever which as you know was based on The Dance Contest in Saturday Night Fever. She had a "Life" outside The Prairie and unlike Melissa Gilbert she didn't look at Michael Landon as a "Surrogate Father".

I was 9 years old when Little House on the Prairie started in 1974. I am 51 years old now. I grew up watching the show and I loved it then and I still love it now. Also it is based on the lives of real people who really existed which makes it even better. Great acting from a really great cast and the sets were amazing. One of my favourite shows ever. Melissa Anderson still looks absolutely stunning.

@@americancitizen1018 U must know her personally to make such a bold statement! LOL As a person who has worked in the medical field most of my adult life, I see nothing on this woman's face to suggest she has altered or enhanced anything! Remember this interview was done 12 years ago, which means she would only be in her 40's. I think she looks very natural and appropriate for her age! Melissa Gilbert, however, is still actively working in Hollywood and has had a few "cosmetic enhancements". I would never assume to know exactly what they were and would hope that u wouldn't appreciate some stranger doing the same to you. Just sayin.... : )

In watching this interview and just listening to how she is discussing things, things that mean something to her and her family values...what a shock that she is actually an actress! All you ever hear or see from Hollywood is immorality, drugs, sex, nudity, filty language...the list just goes on and on and now we have this young lady...beautiful and talented yet somehow pure and clean...hard to accept that she ever worked in that town. Her husband and her kids are so blessed to have her. She is a lady in a time when being a lady is almost nonexistent.

She's still just as pretty as she was on the show . I agree with her when she talks about she wished there were more family oriented shows today . I have seen so many people comment about that very thing . There's just too much cussing , vulgar, and violence in this world enough as it is . Wht not go back to having what most families with kids want and that's shows like The little house on the prairie ? I loved watching it when I was growing up . I believe I've seen every episode. Thanks so much for sharing these great interviews .

I loved how Mary always cared about being obedient, trying her best, putting the family first, and studying. I really do try to emulate her on my good days even as an adult. She reminds me of what it was like to be little and to still be innocent. My little girl and I would watch LH everyday, and we would joke about it if she had a test the next day, which we would call an "examination" (like they called in on Little House.) @lindseymarie83293 жыл бұрын
@@lavodvince150 what a terribly rude, judgemental comment. He really was a wonderful man. Being an addict & alcoholic doesn't make someone a bad person. Addicts & alcoholics are actually very sensitive people. They use in order to self medicate & numb themselves from the harshness of world... Which includes rude people who speak ill of the deceased.
@elintilia27903 жыл бұрын
@@lindseymarie8329 they didn't add a judgment to the alcoholic and drug user part; you just assumed it. I think the point is that no person is perfect; neither was Michael Landon. I love the wholesome entertainment he gave us, but it's no secret he had inner struggles and made some questionable decisions in his life. And most of us are guilty of that in one way or the other. Elevating him to the status of an angel does him a disservice because at that point he stops being viewed as a person, a human being like the rest of us.

I think in her case it's because a career as a successful actress is hard to come by, so when you manage to get it, there's this expectation/pressure to keep going no matter what. She had something others would (figuratively) kill for, so to consciously choose to turn your back on that is often perceived as selfish. I don't agree with that at all, but you can tell that same pressure is still present in Hollywood today; not many successful actresses bow out of acting at an age where there are still many opportunities for them.

Why do they never talk about Karen Grassle in these interviews? I've seen many with Melissa Gilbert, and now Melissa Sue Anderson, and Ms. Grassle's name never comes up. I thought she was terrific as Ma Ingalls, rarely given enough to do, but she always projected a quiet grace and dignity that goes unsung. They even talked about Victor French in this one, and Ms. Grassle is strangely omitted.

@bobdonda8 жыл бұрын
I agree with her that it's weird for Adam to regain his sight (such an unrealistic situation), only for them to never follow up on it much in the show. They could have done some episodes with him taking on other legal cases even if she's just there to support him. Strangely, the show portrayed it as something that drove a wedge between Adam and Mary.
@organicskating8 жыл бұрын
+bobdonda Agreed, except I don't think it was a permanent wedge between the characters. If this show was on now they probably could have transitioned between scenes in a big city and scenes in Walnut Grove. Thought it was silly for them to have Adam go back to Walnut Grove for that 1 case. Also I thought it was soo sweet for Missy to have felt guilty about Linwood losing his job because she decided to leave. They were so great together onscreen and wonderful actors, it was a shame they weren't given more creative stories to play out.

I love the show there isn't that many shows like little house that's what makes it speacel and differenet to every show in then world. It makes me smile because my parnets watch this when they were younger than I am now and they love it too. That's how I got into loving this show. I love all the charaters of the show, my favorites were Charles, Mary, Albert and Mr Edwards. As I got into more of all then seasons of the show, I loved them all now. Charles- he is a loving, hard working father just like my own father. And Charles makes jokes just like my Dad. Caroline- She reminds me of my Mum. All ways trys to help us out with our clothes. She has the same smile as my Mum too. Mary- She looks like my twin sister a lot. Blonde long hair, bigger cheeks than me. Hannah is a lot like Mary, Mary loved to read, learn about history like Hannah. Laura- Laura reminds me of me! I am the more outdoors person than my twin. I loved to just be outside. I dont really care that much about hair or clothes like Hannah. I always was not the studying type, and always never really read books. I love to learn outside! Carrie- she reminds more like I want a little sister! I've alwas wanted on, Carrie is cute but gets more grown up as she gets older. Mr+Mrs Olsen- they remind me the funny side of my parnets. Dad would be more quite than Mum. This is funny like a double act!

Children shouldn’t be the centre of attention. We were brought up to respect adults and humbly to stay in the background when adults met and talked. It is a good thing to learn that instead of expecting attention in any situation.
