To lessen the likelyhood of having an aluminum fragment in your eye, throat or sever an artery or vein firstly, wear safety glasses. Measure the flattened caps diameter and half it for the radius and drill in the center to prevent those vibrations that will prematurely wear out the carbon dampeners and motor. Not for nothing; it would help to have a simple jig to get the hole in the center, and removing the messy burrs before adding the bolt/nut to secure would allow it to sit perpendicular to the rotation. Lastly, thin pvc like that can be cut using a simple exacto knife, without the radius over cut. Just my 2 cents.
