She isn't a psychopath; she's sociopath. She can feel emotions such as anger and disappointment so she is actually a sociopath. She only kills when it benefits her instead of when she's bored.

lol 100% true. I saw a movie about a bunch of murders happening in a small British village. It was sort of a comedy, but a really dark one. Every time a murder happened, all the police thought they were just accidents because their chief was actually a part of the group committing the murders, and he had brainwashed them. Only one person, the main character, knew that they had to be murders and eventually, he was able to get all the brainwashed (or I should probably say brainless) cops on his side and he was able to kill the murders and arrest their leader

The horror of going through this as a parent must be an intense one. On one hand that is your beloved child so you might be in denial; on the other you know they could kill you without any thought. Psychopathy/sociopathy in children, although very rare, is REAL. It must be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible before the afflicted can do any more harm. Never give up on your children.
@arthurjeremypearson
@arthurjeremypearson 9 ай бұрын
There is a logical proof called game theory that shows even if you're the most selfish person in the world, the best strategy long-term is to be nice, not competitive. The problem is selfishness combined with hubris. If you think that you can figure everybody else out, the sociopath feels confident enough that they can get away with it. And they can't. Not forever.

She feels some sort of way towards her father, cognitively perhaps. She was protective over him, and shed tears over him without her "mask on" seconds before attemping to kill him, both times. Psychopathy is often mistaken with so many other detachment disorders. She never had her mother's nurture which may explain why she is the way she is. She definitely lacks remorse but does show some feelings towards her dad, just not strong enough to want him in her life.

Funny you should say that: In the original novel, Rhoda gets away with everything (for a variety of reasons); but in the 1956 film adaptation it was demanded that the ending be changed because it was seen as inappropriate and immoral to show bad guys winning- so they have her get struck by lightning at the end out of nowhere. Sometimes the bad guys get away with things. That's life.

She's just acting on her stupid urges and killing people who she doesn't even need to bother with. She lacks empathy, this doesn't make her super smart. It's just that the adult characters in this movie are just really really stupid. She was good at emotionally manipulation if she just kept the act without killing or hurting any one she could get at a far better position in life. That's actually how most psychopaths work, and most of them become ceo's. Or reach other High positions in life before showing their dark sides.

Interesting movie, was cool how she is able to use different tactics in order to get what she pleases. Unfortunately, she isn't very good at covering her tracks as early on is when she starts to become suspected by even her own father.

The girl who played this character is gonna make iconic performances in the coming years. I have seen her acting skills in tv series like Young Sheldon, The Handmaid's Tale. Now this movie. Her expressions are outstanding. She will win an Oscard award in the coming years i believe.

If anyone hasn't seen the original "The Bad Seed" movie (there is a book too), watch it. It's the same premise, but involves the mother being the daughter of a serial killer. She worries that trait may be passed down to her, but it wasn't. Instead, it was passed to her daughter, who is a psychopath. For its time (50's or 60's), it talked about nature vs nurture. Haunted me as a kid.
