So the opening song...I love it. But...I'm a bit frustrated trying to figure out exactly what song it is. The credits are only partially helpful: it would be nice if you would say what composer and song in the correct order. So...the opening track sounds so much like John Barry to me, and it caught my attention because I LOVE John Barry's work (Dances with Wolves for a start), but I just couldn't recall what Barry song it was. So I embarked upon a research trail and was captured in a classic rabbit hole. James Newton Howard was credited in this film...who I was at first having a bit of a time differentiating from James Horner, but I got that now...and as best as I can figure, the first track is from the Prince of Tides, by Howard, but with the kicker of John Barry having begun the project, quit, and then it was turned over to Howard. So did Howard finish Barry's notes or something??? Unfortunately, internet research concerning minutiae that occurred in the 90's is spotty, so I cannot verify any of this. I do wish I knew the song name and composer. I'm sure I've heard this song name before, and I did watch the Prince of Tides a long time ago, but now all I remember about it is that Nick Nolte did a s***load of coke.
