When the album "Men without Women" came our during my university days it completely blew me away. The songwriting, the arrangements, the performance of all these wonderful musicians gathered on this album... On the inner sleves you could see photographs that obviously were taken from a movie. I read, that the short film Steven had produced in paralel to the making of the album were shown in some assorted art house theaters and then...got lost. I wished so much I could see the entire film.

I agree with that hundred percent. I saw this video probably 2 or 2:30 am one day on MTV. I never saw it in daytime. It was right before a break and no commercials yet. The video ended and then went directly to the rocket and the MTV id. Kind of a rare video. Didn't get played much from what I saw.

I can't believe I found this at last! I was 22 when this album dropped, and it was played to pieces (by moi) all summer long. I just loved the Four Tops and anything with James Jamerson's bass when I was a little girl. This song is the perfect Motown tribute. I had played flute and baritone sax in high school, and hearing this song (and the whole smokin' album), that was the first time I imagined I could maybe make that awesome sound too. Loved Steven, loved Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Great memories.

Hey little Steven. Just a couple of local guys talking goog old days. Do you remember "my wife's place 2?" It was between the Howard Johnsons and the salt water pool on the boardwalk in Asbury. Great place, my first drinking spot. I was about 19 and me and robbie and his girlfriend. We drove to Connecticut. We bought a pack of smokes, then headed out and bought a pack of smokes then headed up the road for fake IDs. That was the only place that would serve us.
