This is probably a issue for a lot of parents and I hope this can help out many frustrations. Wheel removal and replacement. You'd think they would make it easier to take off the wheels so if you need to pack it back in the box you could. Little Tikes 2-in-1 Pirate Ship Play

What size star lock washer did you use?

This does not work when the brown axel cover is in place. On a new one, you cannot see the yellow plastic that is showing in this video. There is no room to pull the inner cover back to access the screws inside the wheel. Thanks anyway for posting - we tried.

Thanks for watching, I just went to the little tike and I see what you mean. I actually got the wheel off again but had to use a different tools. I'll upload a video later on showing how to get it off with everything together.

Hi! I just was able to do this with the new brown axel cover in place! It took two people - one to bend the inner brown cover as far as possible and one to get the screw driver in. It wasn’t easy and I thought I was going to crack the inner brown cover, but it held up. Was successfully able to get the wheel off. Now just need to get a new washer.

It was definitely a lot harder with the cover part in place, but it can be done!

It can be done it’s just super hard. I just did it and my fingers hurt
