Fiorello! is a Broadway classic not performed often enough. I can see that NYU did a fantastic job with it. Bravo to the talented "Little Tin Box" guys!

Very good! This is a great number from an underrated show. Howard Da Silva was unforgettable, but I would love to see this revived on Broadway with a strong cast.

TERRIFIC!!!!! Played both Grandpa Prophater and Alonso Smith, Sr. in "Meet Me In St. Louis" for Bill in the early 90's. He is a wizard!!! This is gorgeous!!!!

We saw original cast in Chicago when I was very young. Tom Bosley was fantastic.

I do not remember if it had Bosley in it but I saw this when it came to Columbus Ohio in the late 50s or early 60s. The "Little Tin Box" number stopped the show.

Can someone explain the context of this scene? I'd always assumed it was gangsters in a courtroom going up against a judge. Or is this not how it's normally staged?

The fellas in the scene are politicians. The crooked politicians on the other side of the aisle have been doing a lot of embezzling and finally got caught. This scene is a celebration. The guys are reenacting and making fun of the courtroom drama by over exaggerating the lame excuses the defendants made.
