I can hear the sadness in Eric's voice as he honors his good buddy Jimi. Imagine at this point in life as to the many ups and downs he's lived through and overcame to reach a place of relative comfort while many of his peers have passed. RIP Jimi...your good buddy Eric still remembers.🙌🏼

It's so funny the way these influences tumble together. Jimi left this song to popular music, Derek picked it up in tribute (Warren rips the Bobby Whitlock vocal harmony addition), and now here we find the Trucks/Allman generation wading in the water that SRV left perfectly still. I'm so glad to have this music

Warren is one of those rare, PERFECT players that never hits a wrong note. His guitar work with the Brothers, Mule, and his solo stuff brings tears to my eyes at times. Check out "Your wildest Dreams" from Man in Motion....pure genius! And his voice is like a '59 Les Paul in the neck position.

I love the Allman Brothers--I have loved them since 1970--so this is not a poke at them but a statement of great respect: the Allman Brothers are the best back up band ever. They can play any song with anybody and make it greater than it was before. Clapton is great here, and together he & the Allman Brothers make this a wonderful "Little Wing."

Everyone who has the guts to play this song has to play it like they stole it. It is one of the greatest underrated songs of all time. Thanks Jimmy. Yeah he shoots Derek a little sideways grin. I watched a movie recently about when Jimi Hendrix first went to London and started playing in small clubs. He gets on stage with Clapton and does this incredible rift, and Clapton unplugged his guitar and left the stage saying ' is he really this fucking good'? I don't know if that actually happened that way, but Clapton was crushed when Jimi died and he recorded Little Wing in tribute not long after.
