How sweet of you to decorate your sisters classroom. It looks GREAT! The students will love going to her room each day. I heard you about the kids not being able to read cursive! My son tells me that ALL THE TIME when I write in cursive. He has been teaching himself to write his name that way. WOW! Thank you so much for sharing!

After 17 years my daughter is not going to have a classroom. I always had so much fun decorating it. Her theme was always M&Ms & I make those same curtains to cover the clutter bins using tension rods. Wished I’d known about the Velcro!!!! Her room looks awesome!

You are amazing! Your sister is very blessed. My sister helped me make big Minions before I had a Cricut for my bulletin board. People don’t realize that classrooms have to be put together before school starts. I never understood that. Lawyers, doctors and nurses don’t have to set up their work areas. Oh well. I hope Ms. Lopez has an outstanding school year.

As a 5th grade ELA/SS teacher, I am jealous. But as a big sister myself, I completely understand. You want your littke sister to be happy. The room looks amazing! When you said you used to be a teacher, it msde sense. You did things that most people outside the profession would evrn think of. Im going to liik fir industrial strength velcro. I have a section in my classroom that needs to be covered tet look nice. Thank you for tge ideas.

My grandson’s would’ve LOVED a classroom like that when they were younger, ESPECIALLY the younger one, I think he would’ve done a lot better. My grandson’s are going into 8th grade & the older one will be a sophomore!! The older one would’ve spent so much time in the reading area!! Here at grandma’s studio apt he used to go into my closet, with the door shut & light on so he could have a quiet place to read…that is till he got too tall for the space!! GREAT JOB!!!

Great job! Very cool! Your sister is lucky to have your help! I teach 5th Grade LA and SS and my room is a shambles! We had a fire in our wing in May…everything was torn down for cleaning. I have to start from scratch. My once bookstore style, 2000+ book classroom library is in trash bags needing reorganization.😱 Add still having to socially distance kids with plastic corrals on their desks, setting up will be quite the daunting task. At least there’s no virtual teaching though!👍🏻

You did a great job with your sister's classroom, I love it! Especially the ready area and the desk and curtain. I was an reading aid and worked with at risk readers in my own classroom. Used my Cricut to deck it out my room and bulletin board too, only had the original Expressions back then, but it worked! I also love that Cricut set her up with her own supplies and machines to keep doing things for herself, her kiddo's and her classroom. Priceless! Hugs, Brenda

My sister past 17y/o and it just warms my heart to see videos like this! Question: how do you know how long to buy your fabric for curtains?? Like you said you got that yellow fabric on sale per YARD now is one yard the perfect size or is that to small?? Do I have to measure from my floor to the rod?? AHHHH to much to know HEELLLLPPPP

Thank you Jennifer. I got 4 yards of fabric. I was super lucky. I saw the fabric on sale and ask how much was on the bolt and it had exactly 4. Each panel is 2 yards each. I would think this is pretty standard for a school. You need some ceiling distantance for most fire codes, and I didn't want it touching the ground. I just thought it would get gross too quickly if it did or stepped on all the time.

You can actually wash fabric hot glue. The pillows will need to be replaced, but I knew that going in and was okay with it. That is why I got them on clearance and made a Dollar Tree one.
