Searle Vs Hetta was the best match of the evening. Unbelievable scoring and finishing. Poor Hetta did nothing wrong but Searle was sublime. Delighted to see MVG knock that cocky little git out. MVG played some great stuff as well.

Luke missing them 3 darts at double top was massive. MVG looked like MGV of old though. Great game. Shame it wasn’t them two in the final, but I am sure we will see both of them up against each other in finals in the next few years!

One can always miss, but here missing high was the problem. He should have gone for a low miss. Players of such a high level are capable. I think it was a real mistake and he paid the price.

The crowd really showed their class tonight. Booing and shouting down a 54 year old icon of the game just because their country lost a football game the night before😂 Hopefully now littler is out the football fans will run off. Credit to Smith his doubling under pressure in the mid part of the game was impressive.

LOL, Bully Boy actually looked pissed off when he missed Big Fish by the width of the wire after winning 7 legs in a row. Searle's finishing was unbelievable and he sucked all the confidence out of Heta towards the end. I never thought MvG would have enough consistency to beat Littler in a first to 10 match. @@gustaaf1892 yeah, something changed indeed. after studying this clip for a while I noticed: - he's applying a mild spin on his darts NOW. (he never applied spin on his darts during his best years) - his rhythm is noticeably slower - there's already a stop as he lift his dart from his quiver to aim position (he lift his darts smoothly during his best years)

@@user-zk8gl4iw2v I noticed that last part too. It’s a shame, his throwing action used to be so smooth. That extra movement throws off the rhythm. One thing I also noticed was in his best years whenever he was in ‘the zone’ (where he produced a couple of legs where it seemed he couldn’t miss) he’d have his mouth open while throwing. As silly as it looked, it made him throw some magical darts. Now he always keeps his mouth closed and I don’t see him getting those few unstoppable legs anymore during games (much less consistent now in general). Coincidence? 😂

@@Quirino26 yeah,. that too. The simple reason is that opening your mouth can help you draw more air as compared to a closed mouth which force you to expand your lungs more to draw more air thus leads to an unstable throw.

It was possible because littler is not in the first 16 of order of merit, who are automatically Set for the tournament. He is 24. But he is in the top 16 of the Pro order of merit and so they could play against. When Littler is in top 16, it isnt possible anymore

He's been a bit off recently, but without any doubt he is the biggest young talent to hit this sport since forever. I'm not much of a fan of his demeanour when things don't go his way, but hopefully that'll change with some maturity.
