Well it's because there's a story, a tangible concept of what could be and what is. The blueprints are there for all contingencies, including all the other standard MK titles, to exist. It's livable, where a select few are affected instead of an entire multiverse, at least as we see it.

I like how Liu portrayed here with the abilities of God. In the previous parts, he was too hasty, stubborn, hot-headed, but in MK1, despite all his universal power and ability to control time, Liu here is more calm, reasonable, modest and peaceful, and kind. I hope he can finally find happiness with Kitana after so many years of Shang Tsung's intricacies and endless battles with Shao Kahn.

The fact that they made every ending in the last game canon by having that fight between Shang Tsung and Liu Kang create timelines for each of them and tricking us by thinking Kronika came back by having Shang Tsung disguise as her and manipulate a version of himself like she did to him is mind fuckingly brilliant. If Avengers Secret Wars isn't like this then I don't want it.

What i love most about this scene is the confirmation that even though they each have a version of the other in their respective timeline, it is not "the same" as this moment. Even though Liu Kang and Kitana are meant for each other, what makes their love unique are their experiences.

As a Liutana fan and main since day 1. Easily one of the best moments of the series considering everything they went through. Him dying in Deadly Alliance. Both Dying in Mk9. MK11 Aftermath. They deserve it. My only question is: will they follow up because i know NRS known for leaning into fan reactions and this one was massive.

lui kang and kitana finally see each other again, even if it's just for a moment, but fate will never bring them together sadly. no matter how powerful they are despite both being keepers of time or having time powers, both of them will never be together. can you ever imagine never being with the one you love because fate keeps tearing you apart from your significant other? your soul mate? the one who you yearn for and miss the most? would you be just fine with just a small yet tender moment with your loved one before fate starts tearing you both apart and set you both on different paths? would you?

You realize it’s self-imposed for both of them, right? Both prioritized free will for their respective timelines, over their own happiness. It wouldn’t had been hard for them to tweak one minor aspect for a love life, like how they tweaked all prior threats, but they choose to do the right thing above their own desires.

Actually this time it can change. In Liu Kang's ending it was said that he lost his immortality and one day may die. So he has decided to replace himself with Geras when his time will be close. I guess one hundred years before his own death Liu may retire and join Kitana while Geras continue his duty by becoming the new Keeper of Time.

The amazing thing is that...technicalyl and very realistically speaking...because of the hourglass...Every characters story where they won is legit and canon due to multiple realites. Basically they made the Tower Arcade Mode part of the canon for all the characters, apart from Liu Kang and Shang Sung. Their canon is based on the final choice you make at the end of Aftermath

So how is Liu Kang and Kitana from the same timeline since Liu Kang's battle with Kronika shattered the timeline into many, and each character became a Keeper of Time in their own ending

That's the only confusing thing i was asking. They created a multiverse. So Liu vs Kronika vs Shang broke time. Eventually it has to be fixed so will the new trilogy center around that cause now we know everyone from mk11 is at least alive in some regard except Jacqui who erased herself from existence

I just started playing MK11 like recently and the line "I don't know. Perhaps in one of the many timelines, they are ours" is actually a nod to Liu's alternate ending on Klassik Towers. I'm excited to get a dedicated GPU just so I can play this game.
