So sad to see Chinese hurdling legend Liu Xiang Crashing Out of the London 2012 Olympics! A suspected achilies injury put pay to his hopes of winning a second Olympic gold medal.
This is the heats of the 110m hurdles at the Olympic Games 2012 from London Olympic stadium. My video includes Unseen Footage of Liu Xiang re-emerging from the tunnel injured hopping down the 100 metre finishing straight and kissing the last hurdle! (possibly for the last time?)
Filmed by me live including unseen tv footage on 07/08/12.
If you like this video please drop a like and feel free to subscribe for more content like this.

He is regarded as a master technician. Allen Johnson (GOAT) and Andy Turner both recognized Liu Xiang as one of the fastest, cleanest, sprinter over the 42" barriers. Choking? Liu Xiang NEVER hits hurdles. It was because of his achilles injury.

Well, that's a load of bull poop isn't it? If he was so badly injured, how come he was the fastest starter? He wasn't injured mate. He just made a mistake when he mistimed his first jump. Case closed.

DiZZy ViZiON I get your analysis. However, he has a left lead leg, meaning he takes off from his right foot. Yes, he had a good start, but that’s independent from his takeoff into the first hurdle, which is where I believe the injury happened. Again, he is a master technician, so I wouldn’t think he’d simply misjudge his steps on such a big stage, especially not in the PRELIMINARY round. As you can see, he didn’t seem to get enough height either. You be the judge..

@@ePlayablez He wasnt injured. His own teammate said he was running 13.00 in practice right before this. He made a bad jump. Simple as that. I think people always wanna give other people excuses. If he was injured that badly, he would not have raced.

Thank you so much for recording and posting this beautiful and tragic moment. Very nice camera quality and camera work, by the way. Hurdling is not easy at all, and this is coming from a former hurdler. It's a lot of practice, your form over the hurdles has to be right, you have to have SPEED between the hurdles, your steps to the first hurdle has to be right, etc. All hurdlers fall at one point or another. I would say it takes at least 2 years to get good at it.

In a lot of ways, seeing a person who faces hardships, struggles and failures only to overcome it at the end is much better than seeing the world's best gold medalists breeze through something. This is because this shows the true strength of the human spirit and the will to finish, is universally understood. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST ADMIRABLE MOMENTS OF THE 2012 OLYMPICS.

Sorry. Colin Jackson - 36 years old. Liu Xiang will definitely recover. He already improved earlier this season with his times of 12.97 and 12.87. Once he recovers and really takes time between races, China will rave when Liu Xiang carries the flag around the track for a victory lap at Rio 2016.

Based on China's overall achievement in the Olympic games thus far, I do not feel as though these British fans are in any position to talk down on Chinese athletes. I felt it was necessary to give them a taste of their own ignorance.
