“A Prayer for Lost Leaders: Seeking Light in Global Shadows” In the shadows of history, a beacon arose, Chatham House, where intellect flows. Borne from the echoes of a war-torn earth, In 1920, it found its birth. From the Paris Peace Conference, a seed was sown, A realm where wisdom and insight are known. Lionel Curtis, with vision so grand, Robert Cecil, with a guiding hand. Balfour and Grey, with statesman’s grace, Keynes, the economist, found his place. Trevelyan’s history, Toynbee’s keen eye, In this house of thought, their legacies lie. With dialogue deep and discussions so free, Chatham House sought a world just and free. Under the Rule of Chatham, trust was laid, In silence and respect, truths displayed. Yet wealth and power have always been near, Politicians and tycoons, their presence clear. In secretive circles, influence grew, The powerful few, with much to construe. Winston Churchill, with his resolute fire, Margaret Thatcher, with her steely desire. Cameron, Major, leaders of fame, Annan and Kissinger, respected names. Brzezinski’s strategy, Soros’ keen mind, Sen’s economics, ideas unconfined. Nye’s soft power, Gates’ tech domain, Melinda’s philanthropy, Ibrahim’s humane. Lagarde’s financial wisdom, Carney’s fiscal art, In Chatham’s chamber, they all played a part. From health to climate, their focus is clear, On global issues, their mission sincere. Yet as they strive for a world that’s whole, The World Economic Forum plays its role. A force understated, powerful and wide, Yet, in its heart, does morality hide? Wealthy elites and politicians grand, Invited to join this influential band. Secrecy shrouds the Billabong group’s might, An unseen power, hidden from sight. An unelected force, by invitation alone, In halls of power, their influence is grown. Global political sway, behind closed doors, Shaping the world, defining its cores. Secret meetings, annually convene, World leaders and CEOs, unseen. Affecting economies, unseen by most, Their power vast, a silent ghost. Security’s shadow, economic rise, Human rights’ call, in Chatham’s eyes. Technology’s march, innovation’s grace, In every challenge, they find their place. Yet absent from discourse, Christianity’s light, A moral compass lost in the night. In halls of power, where policies spin, Where is the faith that once dwelled within? In Chatham’s legacy, a question we pose, In the world’s vast theater, how will it close? For as we seek a future bright, May we not forget the guiding light. Oh Lord, we pray for guidance true, For those in power, lost from You. May they find the path they’ve strayed, And seek Your wisdom, undismayed. In secret chambers, may truth prevail, And justice, mercy, never fail. For in this world, Your will we seek, To lift the strong and aid the weak. Guide their hearts, and make them see, The light of faith, eternally. In global halls, let peace be sown, And may Your love and truth be known. Amen. 🙏

What I find bizarre Reform's votes cast were just over 4 million with 4 seats. While the Conservatives' votes cast was just under 7 million they have 119 seats. On that basis, Reform should have at least 60 seats. However, Reform is a fledgeling Party, it's their first GE, and with few resources, it can only improve. I hope the 4 new Reform MPs will be a thorn in the side of the new left-wing Liebore government, and hold them to account. Also a special thanks to all those who voted for Reform, well done.

Here is the stats for labour in 2005 35% 2010 29% 2015 30% 2017 40% 2019 33% 2024 35% so not that much of a gain. Labour votes North 0%- Midlands up 2% - South up 0.2% - London down 5% - Scotland up 17% Wales down 4%. Vote shares Lab up 2% con down 20% LD up 1% GRN up 4% And my favourite REF up 13% so far. I think Sunak knew he was going to lose and thought well i would rather have labour in charge and that is why he done the election early. Because i think if it had been kept to later on in the year Reform would have more tIme to build up a fan base and Conservatives were worried about that. IMHO.

In the end, people got what they believed they wanted. When this all goes tits up. We know who to blame again. SNP had Scotland in their hands and threw it all away. DUP, and the unionist in Northern Ireland are divided and allowed SF to dominate. The only good thing about all this, when it all does go wrong and we know it will. The likes of reform can improve. SNP will take those seats back. And labour will be a failure as usual. I just hope people realise Conservatives are not going to do it.
