I don’t have many of the 1/2 speed masters by Miles but he did a great job on Sade. Makes sense since he was working directly with the band with the best source material.

I suggest asking Kevin Gray and Bernie Grundman their thoughts about half-speed mastering... you won't get such a positive reply.

As a past member of VMP, I had a very good experience. All records arrived in great shape and on time. Usually beautifully pressed on some sort of colored vinyl with enclosed booklets, top-notch covers…… sorry to hear of their troubles. Another good forum, Steve.

My Grateful Dead box set repress has been pushed back again. But in the latest email said its getting pressed at RTI. And i got a 40% discount code on in stock items.

Music on Vinyl is typically high res transfer of OMT. Some use original plates of 90s pressings (which are likely digital too).

I got my Master Of Reality, Fleetwood Mac and All of The Dolly Parton records from VMP. So far their records of the month have been shipped on time.

Thanks for the live stream, Steve. I keep saying it, but I'd love for great jazz albums from the 90's to reissued on vinyl rather than the same titles over and over....Beyond the Missouri Sky, Charlie Haden stuff with Abbey Lincoln, Hank Jones, etc, Abbey Lincoln, Brad Mehldau. That is great stuff

Gary Salstrom leaving QRP has had an impact on QRP still, in my opinion. The biggest shake-up, I believe, is when RTI Master Presser and Manager, Rick Hashimoto left RTI (joined by his two Sons, Eward & Alex) to help design, set-up and run the new Fidelity Record Pressing plant (Manager January 2023, after being with RTI for 48 years). It is now up and running. I have had many issues with RTI defects, noisy vinyl etc. much more than 'normal' over the past couple years. I cringed each time I found a new AP release... only to find it being pressed at RTI.

Have recently ended my VMP subscriptions, monthly titles are pretty underwhelming overall, maybe 5 a year are of interest out of 36+ that I receive. Additionally, Alicia Keys box was delayed considerably, finally arrived a few weeks ago, packaging is excellent byt quality of vinyl pressing isn't so great. Have to say though, generally their pressing quality has been great in the past. May return as a member, but will keep an eye on issued new titles for a few months. Thanks
