I always visualize you out on the open seas, away from the city chaos. Then, as a retired firefighter, I recognize the sounds of an Engine and Truck Company responding to a call from not to far a distance. My illusions are shattered!😅 Great video as always, thanks Adam.

Adam you are an incredible and very knowledgeable fisher!! Bar none! Moon and squid. I believe commercial squid fishes shine huge bright lights on waters that they net. The prized diet of ocean sunfish, Mola mola, is squid. I too, love them, breaded and fried; topped with soya or cocktail sauce.

What all fish can you catch while kayaking in California waters? I always wanted to move to Florida but for personal reasons that may no longer be viable, but job opportunities in So. Cal are looking promising. But I know nothing of the California fisheries, what can be caught, what is prized, what can be kept, what people want to keep, and so much more. I know this is such a vast and varied topic, but if you could give me any advice or resources, you'd have the gratitude of a man in a dark time in his life.

Question about your Spin & Cast.. rod socks ? Can you tell me how long each one are in inches, So I can cover the rods with no reel on. To cover the reel seat also. Most companies just say a 7'ft. Or 7.5' rod . Also what end would you cut if I want to shorten it ? Thanks 👍 Ray S.

Nice, they are opening up Halibut up here in BC tomorrow (rather early then what is normal) though, iv never been fishing specifically for halibut from my kayak, just starry flounder , cabazon , greenling ext. Most people tell me there isn't much halibut in the georgia straight / puget sound as they tend to stay further out west in the deeper areas, past all the coastal islands. which makes sense, but being from Vancouver it sure would be nice to be able to try somewhere along the coast that isnt west coast vancouver island. Anyone have luck before?

It hurt to see you throw that whitefish back! Theyre incredibly rare up north and taste delicious. No they do not fall under the same restrictions as rockfish and are pretty much open year round to both shore and boat based anglers. Otherwise great video and tight lines!

@@dogsense3773well theyre not endangered. It just so happens that they have an isolated and thriving population in a much more northern area. But I see what you mean and I totally get it, especially applying to freshwater bodies where fishing pressure can really thin out sensitive species.

Aerodynamics = in the air Hydrodynamic = in the water Because as you said "in the winter you must go Low and Slow" that way your bait bucket will stay in the water and not fly through the air.......but wouldn't that make it more aerodynamic??? Adam is right again! 😛

Have you ever caught a pacific halibut in the Bay Area? I know that they make their way there sometimes. But I totally agree with waiting to pull your gear last. You never know! I heard San fran bays, east bays are very polluted and fish is full of toxic chemicals, so many ships come and go, all boats and engines that are watercooled, disperse toxic chemicals into bays, even my 6hp outboard produces oily stream of water as its cooling engine. Constantly eating fish from nearshore is bad idea

Your fishing technique would do a killing on snook in Veracruz , Mexico. The locals troll super slow with heavy weights in 40 to 50ft of water or they find a current and just drift live bait much like you do. i'm going to get a kayak and get rich selling snook to restaurants..
