Darren- this answered a lot of questions that I asked in the letter I wrote to you in NY at Hedwig.I asked about your music and lyric writing process.I doubt you will ever read this.The fusing of pop and musical theater-half rhymes & slant rhymes-I get it.The methodical & mathematical process is interesting.I get that different rhyme schemes would be better for each individual artist.I get the idea that your song is like having a kid & you hope it surpasses all of your hopes.I cried the 1st time I heard "This Time." You are not an idiot!! I would expect you be meticulous about the production of your song. I would be. I'm glad it came out the way you wanted. Can't wait to see anything you do for and with StarKid. Odd. For the category he's nominated for, I'm pretty sure he had to have submitted the song himself, but even then, he and his management team also spent a whole load of time pushing so much for the Emmy nomination, and he did loads of interviews and publicity and all that stuff to try and get the Nod, so why did he say he was surprised the song had been submitted and that he got all that attention? It definitely can't have been a surprise. Oh well, maybe he forgot.
