Lettuce ice has developed over the last few days in the desert region. Morning temperatures have dipped into the mid-30°s to low 40°s . Production and loading delays are expected over the next several days. Plant growth will likely slow down and defects such as epidermal blistering and peeling may develop on lettuce items. If cold weather persists, we will continue to see light carton and bin weights for commodity and value-added lettuces for several more weeks.
