@fox 26 news please do an investigation on how Centerpoint handles trees too close to any electrical equipment such as power lines. I’ve called them numerous times to trim my trees that are too close to the power lines. They come like I did something wrong. When it’s their website that says to contact them bc we’re not supposed to take care of any trees that are too close. They see all my neighbors trees around the power lines but don’t do anything but complain. I finally had mine trimmed last week after more than 6 months of informing them. The first time they came out they said I had 2 years to take care of a tree. When I get a company to take care of my trees they tell me the tree was way too close for them to trim the tree. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I called Centerpoint again and they came out. I called again to check. Told nothing was reported 🤦🏻‍♀️. I called again. And finally something was reported. Had to call again bc nothing was done within 4 weeks. Finally something was done thankfully before this storm. Do they not understand how their line of work is a matter of life or death for many people?! It’s not about whether or not a homeowner was negligent, it’s about fixing the problem and keeping people alive.

Houston Texas should have MORE THAN ENOUGH RESOURCES to deal with a Cat 1 storm but we may as well be living in a 3rd world country because every time there's a random storm, we lose power & everything comes to a stand still.. not just the major storms.. every minor one as well. And it's not as if officials don't know that we can expect at least 2 big storms per year yet every damn time it's like no one is ready. The power companies can charge us plenty of $$ but they sure as hell never deliver when necessary. From this woman to the mayor to the governor.. they are all worthless. And a once great state now sux because of the liberals & incompetent republicans. 😠🤬🤬 Fed up!!

Get it together Space City! Were the contractors told not to come because it was only a Cat1? Why did Centerpoint toot their horn before the hurricane about being prepared, and now all of a sudden this blunder happens? Just imagine if the hurricane got stronger than a Cat1 before it hit? Never underestimate a hurricane if it looks like it’s coming our way!
