I absolutely love Bogotá. I’m generally a person who likes quiet beach towns, but I ended up in Bogotá accidentally and fell in love with it. It’s a very beautiful city with so many beautiful Parks and the people are kind and interesting. As a Canadian, I can’t even afford fruits and vegetables anymore but Bogota has some incredibly cheap produce! With break discount stores like D1 and Ara, you can eat like a queen here. I usually rent Airbnb‘s either in Chaparino,el Chico Norte or the Financial district which I find all really safe. The only down part about Bogotá is the weather. There really is not much sunshine, it’s not that warm, and it rains a lot. The altitude also gets to me sometimes although the altitude is not as high as in Cusco in Peru, it still bothers me. Thank you for the great video.😊

I moved from the USA to Colombia. I live in Bogota. No complains except the horrible traffic. The northern part of Bogota is amazing. Medellín also feels distinguished without being extremely arrogant like New York. I think this is a country trying to be a big change. The weather is great, the nature, the food, with good decent money you definitely can live like a king. Bogotá has some amazing malls, better than most of the USA, it has a European vibe, also the latin vibe. I live also in the northern side outside of Bogota. A bit cold but amazingly calm and gorgeous

I tried German 😅 Most Colombians, who will pickup another language, will choose ; Italian and French; while both are lovely languages. However, their uses are limited outside of their own, respective countries. English and Spanish, will provide you, with a great time 😅❤🎉 Cheers to You and yours. 🙏🥳🥰🤩🎯🙏

A few months ago a video went viral in which a foreigner ordered his food in English and the waitress did not understand him. The foreigner's Colombian girlfriend tried to mediate and translate into Spanish, but the foreigner interrupted her girlfriend and told her, "She has to learn." A Colombian who overheard the conversation interrupted and said, "She doesn't need to learn English, you need to learn Spanish." This sparked a debate on social media. The massive arrival of foreigners, and especially this type of attitude, has made Colombians more apprehensive and intolerant towards foreigners. A piece of advice: many of you want to leave "America", but "America" must also come out of you, from your being. It makes no sense to leave America to be America somewhere else. especially need to abandon this "gringo perspective" that you may not be aware of and that you mean no harm, but that is annoying and sometimes even disrespectful. This is compassionate advice to avoid a similar or undesirable situation. I hope you enjoy and get involved with the culture

@@Frivals Yes, it is necessary to know how to live in Colombia as well as in many other countries, especially in big cities. It requires developing certain habits, certain attitudes that Americans may lack of. In Bogotá, he lives in a high socioeconomic level where these types of precautions are not unusual. Having a driver who is also a bodyguard is not uncommon. Private security companies are very common in buildings, malls, etc. They are seen everywhere. One cannot simply buy a convertible BMW, show off your expensive Rolex and iPhone, and think that nothing will happen. It doesn't work that way in Colombia and many other parts of the world.

@@joannabusinessaccount7293 you need to calm down. I live in a neighborhood where I'm the only non-colombian and most everyone with kids has nannies, cleaning ladies and/or cooks, we have gardeners in the neighborhood too. I don't know where you're from, but it is a norm to have nannies, cooks and cleaning ladies (Empleadas), way before gringos started rolling into Colombia in packs. If you're on a finca, it is common to have a family or two who live on the property and take care of it, animals, and gardens. And, also, long, long history of this before gringos discovered Colombia.

@@joannabusinessaccount7293 also, your ignorance is showing. Most of the people that have those jobs are often coming from neighborhoods where they don't have other opportunities and were taken advantage of local community. My empleada only did cleaning once a week. She used to work at a flower farm. She earned minimum wage. When her son got sick, she was fired because she had to take care of him and it was hard for her to go to the flower far regularly.. When she worked for me, she could bring her son, she worked less hours and earned double, and could have more time with her son. We also helped her find more jobs like that and it helped her save money and get a better apartment. We gave her everything that we would be getting rid of so she was able to get stuff she could use and either sell or give away things to family or the church. We had old baby things that benefited her neighbor, a single mom. She was very sad when we had to move about 45 minutes away and let her go, and she said that she would even go 45 minutes each way to come work for us. We made sure she filled her times with good people to upkeep her income. So kindly, do think before you type.

@@joannabusinessaccount7293It feels rather odd that you don’t realize how every country that is now rich and developed has had to undergo phases of low-skilled intense-hours labor with low wages, in order to accumulate the capital needed which in turns allows to increase productivity, wages, cut down on working hours, and enjoy a higher standard of living. Such has been the case in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, more recently in Taiwan, Singapore, China, etc. why would you frown upon one of the natural phases of a country wanting to reach progress and wealth? How else do you suggest a society to accumulate the capital required to raise living standards? By sleeping? By accumulating monopolistic regulations that make employment impossible or a luxury for a reduced number of workers?

First went to Colombia for dental tourism and fell in love with the country. The dentist was educated in the US and charged pennies on the dollar. The facilities were top notch - better than most US clinics. Now, I forsake the dental insurance and make a trip to Colombia every year. Dental insurance in the US, after all, doesn't really cover that much. To give some idea on the differences in services between the US + Colombia: I had 2 root canals and was charged $240 with the exchange rate of 6 years-ago. The work was done the same day it was diagnosed.

Latin American operations were based in Colombia until his boss was robbed for his phone and died after being pushed to the concrete. After said incident, the company moved Latin American operations to Panama. I intend to visit Colombia again, especially now invested in the region.
