There must have been something that bothered the kid enough to do this, unless it was suicide by cop. He was so young. But, for example, if he had had a bad episode of clinical depression, he wouldn't be the first to be driven to suicide by the thought of another episode. One of my brother's high school classmates did that at the age of 16-17 even though she seemed happy and popular.

I did when it first came out. I read it twice. I've read probably a dozen books written by people who knew his family or worked with him. Another good one is "Tower of Lies" by Barbara Res. She was the construction supervisor for the Trump Tower project. She's known Trump for over 50 years and she had to deal with his daily tantrums, schemes to save a buck at his tenants' expense, and 😢to ask that she use cheaper materials in the actual construction of the building. She states that she never would even consider doing such a thing that would endanger people's lives, so she would just do what was right and make him think that she did what he asked her to do. She said he wouldn't know the difference anyway and she wasn't going to compromise the safety and integrity of the building. I read her book in one night. I couldn't put it down. She also stated that he flew into a rage and started screaming at her to get the blacks out of the construction site because he had tenants coming to look at the apartments and they wouldn't want to move there if a "bunch of N's" were hanging around the building. She said, "They're WORKING, Donald!" But he was adamant no blacks be visible to prospective tenants.

Excellent book. And so was Mary's second book by the way. 💙💙💙

I remember activists not so keen on Trump were clearly advising that everybody should stay away from the rally and the Capitol on Jan 6, no counter-protests. A normal person was going to be inaugurated soon anyway, so why bother... But they said the odds were that violence would occur and there were groups there who liked to beat up counter-protesters as an initiation ritual. Plus they didn't want to interfere with any actions the police would need to take, or confuse them. So it was pretty obvious from chatter on right-wing forums and Donald's tweets that his supporters were not going to be just a polite bunch of tourists. Trump had been complaining about Pence refusing to stop the Constitutionally mandated process long before Jan 6. The magnitude of the attack on the Capitol and how badly overwhelmed the police were was a surprise. Ordinarily, the National Guard would have been called in very soon and order would have been restored quickly. Neighboring states had even offered their Guards to help early in the day. But the only person who had the authority to call out the National Guard was Donald Trump, who in such matters acts like the Governor of a state. The DC mayor couldn't do it, and nobody in Congress could do it. And Trump was enjoying himself watching live coverage on tv for hours and refused to listen to pleas by his family, his staff, people in Congress etc. to do something to stop the disaster. Finally Vice President Mike Pence authorized calling in the National Guard. This means that Pence and the military decided that Trump was incapacitated, because that's the only way the Vice President can have that authority.

As a Canadian, CNN was my go-to news source, especially regarding politics. I have not watched it for awhile now, because they allow felon don's cronies to spread far too many lies, with very minimal pushback.
