The first wave is not over. The second wave will be much worse. There is no reason to celebrate. Had the WHO, Surgeon General, President and all governors recommend and required All Americans to wear masks, gloves and clean all items purchased, the lock down would be unnecessary. Our economy would still be strong, the riots would have been peaceful and law and order would have been maintained and the officer would still have been changed with murder.

If the public schools in lower income neighborhoods (which receive less funding than public schools in affluent neighborhoods) received better funding it would help more students get on track for higher education.

Parents who value education. Neighbors who value education when parents don't. The community that values education when blocs of neighbors don't. Places of worship have to promote education AND the PARENTS who come from humble beginnings that managed to STILL get their kids educated for the benefit of the community ... We have public libraries, the Internet, KZfaq documentaries, etc. except, we don't have an idea of telling kids: Master This! Answer THIS question! We don't have a culture of it. We used to.

@@ItsMe-sv3mp I do understand and it is heartbreaking to think of those elderly. Keep in mind this was the CDC guidelines that many states followed. It was also noted if the Nursing Homes were unable to care for the sick they needed to call the DOH for placement of care. I do not think this was all intentional to not care for them, the time was also critical to keep the hospital capacity given the predictions that were given to New York at the time. Cuomo reversed that directive maybe knowing this was not a good guildeline to follow. I respect leaders who will change in the right direction. I can't say my heart is not broken for the elderly who are most effected. May God keep them close. Let's pray this virus get's completed eradicated. God Bless.

Your Bang on :) !! Nobody is perfect but they are trying. When in a position like Andrew Cuomo you have many people under you and mistakes will be made. The mistakes made are made up for 100,000 times by getting to and executing these bills. All other Sens, Gov's, Mayors, Pres, are racking their brain or shaking in their boots on how to match this. On June 9th 15 people were shot by criminals here in nyc. Why don't they publicize that, show how deadly your city's are, full transparency. People need to see the all around truth not just police departments put all crimes on the news let them see the horrors that people inflict upon each other.

Yeah, several times. Short of a complete cordon sanitaire, NYC balanced its position as a hub commerce and travel hub to this part of the world. You're question is "how do you prevent infected people from another state" coming into NYC. The answer is two parts: "You don't" and "Are you crazy, or trying to cause trouble?" You may have missed the brief because you're not interested. You were paid to post the question. I watched the brief. I'm from Massachusetts and I STILL watched the brief. Where's that money going to come from? New York has been shut down, businesses aren't just shut down, they gone. The Fed had to borrow the last stim, and we've already had three.

I am a first-generation Asian immigrant. Let me tell you how low-income families succeed: it takes diligence, hardworking, self-discipline, and perseverance. Knowledge cannot be taught. You have to have the motivation to learn it. No one can help him/her if this person is lazy, lack of self discipline, and only want to live an easy life. Do NOT blame it all on government or other people for your own failure. Losers do that. Wise people blame themselves and change themselves. One last thing: ALL LIVES MATTER, no matter white, black or yellow, straight or homosexual . Everyone deserves equity. If anyone, regardless of his/her skin colour or sexuality, wants society to offer him/her more privilege or esteem over other people, that is called discrimination.

This is naive. I am a white woman who dated a black man. We lived near Boston. Everytime we went out the cops pulled us over. My date was dragged out of the car and slammed spreadeagled against the side of his car for a minor traffic infraction. Another time, he was arrested and taken to jail because of an old parking ticket his brother forgot to pay. His car was confiscated.

Beth Evans I am sorry to hear your experience. Such discrimination certainly need be eliminated. However this is sometimes a psychological stereotype and a natural response that results from collective impressions on the high criminal rate of black communities. In my language there is an old saying: a change from inside is the prerequisite of changes from outside. If black communities want more respect from the society, the first thing to do is to be diligent, self-disciplined, and work hard, not individually, but the whole community-wise.

I'm sorry you feel this way. Yes it wasn't the best decision to place them back in Nursing Homes but given the information of overwhelming the hospitals that the models were dictating and the guidelines the CDC outlined that is why this was done in the early stages. I believe there where many decisions that did not serve all. Keep in mind though Governor Cuomo reversed that directive. I admire anyone in power to change their policies once they acknowledge it might not have been the most effective. It's when it's keep secretly or justified that makes it a crime. I too am very sorry all those beautiful people had to leave there life like that. God Bless.

Love you brother Mario, but is the only Check on the states the purse? How about laws that hold chief executives, Governors, criminally responsible for disregarding Federal Law? Its the code of silence among, complement, silent appointed officials that allows these things to happen. I would vote for you for President right now! But please consider running in four or eight years. I wish you would have had circumstances that open the door for voicing your perspective and viewpoint at an earlier time, a color blind, right is right and wrong is wrong humanity based humanity that would in my humble opinion be a true representation of the spirit of the intentions of the constitution of the United States.
