I commend this officer. He is NOT a therapist or mediator yet people use 911 as such. 🙄 Get a therapist, use your words, follow the law, don't do drugs, stay in school. It's pretty simple.

Not everyone has the money for a therapist. Some people have serious addiction issues and are unable to stop on their own. In an ideal world, everyone could do what you suggest and the world would be much better off. But it’s simply not realistic for everyone. I’m glad that in this case it seemed to work out for them. Like you said, it’s not directly part of a cop’s job to act like a mediator, but realistically they have to frequently

Don't worry, cops pay their own taxes as well, not just citizens that have jobs and they probably make a little more than we do. I guess they're contributing to paying themselves to put that tax money to a "good use". An officers job is to enforce laws, and unfortunately, sometimes, a minor dispute is also a law they need to enforce. So in reality, regardless of how small, it is a good use of tax money. :-)

Slate13 that’s 17 more than the normal hours per week. That’s 114 hours per two weeks. I work 40 a week and 80 per 2 weeks which is an average.

Many people are saying it’s a waste of the officers time but this officer was a mediator in this instance. He prevented anything worse from happening and 10-8 calls (domestics) are usually the most dangerous Situations out there. He did his job extremely well. He kept the peace, that’s a part of the oath.
