Likely as he is outside the residence, they don't have a search warrant to enter. If he was inside, they would have the right to enter, and anything they come across would be fair game for prosecution, but as he is outside, they can't go in.

@@blackhaze8233 That's true, they can, but it's a more difficult process and requires a judge to believe that there are justifiable grounds to issue a warrant. That's the point I was making. Going to a judge for a warrant is far more laboursome, with a higher burden of proof, than just having a quick nosey because a door was left open.

I'm sure some of the warrants were arbitrary because that's what they do to get $$.. they will get it from you or from the housing costs when you sit out your time, it's a system designed to make the maximum amount of profit and being that it's the government they get to write their own rules for themselves, such as polices..

It's potentially a dangerous situation and the cop pulls up walking around like he just pulled up to church. My advice to that officer is expect the worst, and hope for the best, and not the other way around. That's how people get hurt or even worse. Stay safe.

This is how warrants should be done. Give them the opportunity to come out on their own instead of breaking their door down in the middle of the night, shooting their dog, and putting a rifle in their face. This is how the police force of a “free” country should operate. There has to be a balance between risk to the officers and respect for the rights of citizens. Kudos to these officers for the way they handled this.

This is a rare exception case, 10 felony warrants generally leads to a manhunt/standoff situation.the fact he just gave up immedietely is rather rare
