Welcome to the Ancient Egypt and the Bible live stream. In these live streams, I will take your questions on ancient Egypt and the Bible.
We are leading an Egypt and the Bible tour on March 2025. If you want to participate in the tour or would like more information, the link is www.jcbs.org/tours/jx25031025... . The link to register is in the "Departure Dates" box.
If you want to re-listen to these Q&A's after we've recorded, we welcome you to hear our past live streams on either KZfaq or as a podcast on Spotify ( open.spotify.com/show/0oAOKeO... )
You can also support us through Paypal using the address ( davidfalk@zoho.com )
If you feel like directly supporting the work of this channel, consider purchasing Ancient Egypt and the Bible merchandise from our store ( my-store-d6b412.creator-sprin... ) or by becoming a patron on my Patreon account ( / egyptandthebible ).
Our live stream Q&A sessions generally run for three to four hours. And as always, superchats are given priority when it comes to answering questions. However, I always try to answer a few non-superchat questions. If you are posting a question in the comments that is not a superchat, please begin the question with a Q: so I can see that it a question being directed towards me. I would also request that you not repeat your questions, so I can better see which questions I have already answered.
It is important to note that these live streams are a live show, without notes or prior preparation. I don’t normally get the questions in advance, so I don’t even know which questions I am going to receive and nobody screens the questions. So I don’t necessarily promise that any question will flesh our every last detail or reference all the literature on the subject, nor do I necessary hold to that the answers are even necessarily correct. I do make mistakes at times and even sometimes change my opinions when I receive new data that points to the contrary. My answers are intended to address the direct inquiry and are not a substitute for a sound Biblical commentary.
At the request of some of my viewers, I have also set up a crypto currency wallet. Monero XMR: 46RXpVRn5QtK25gU1naVa72tWa1nGdfGwK8npLaAZKwKQp9i8qbe1CDS5cjVcNX4Ug47Uh5Q8kid3eDV5za9b4saQ5sEWf5
Bitcoin BTC: bc1qn4hykytwr4kh8c2z9w05mqcq040h9vgtwl0pt5
Please also consider purchasing my book, "The Ark of the Covenant in its Egyptian Context: An Illustrated Journey." Available now through most major book retailers.
If you want to continue on the conversation and meet other members of this community, you are invited to join us on our Discord community ( / discord )

Dr. Falk, I really appreciated your explanation of Luke as being Mary's genealogy. I've always accepted it, but wondered how it was actually plausible. Mary not having any brothers makes it make perfect sense. 😁 Also, a good book on the Trinity is _The Forgotten Trinity_ by Dr. James White. I know you have issues with his doctorates, but this book is solid, ties in Old Testament passages and is a quick and easy read. Also, regarding a commentary, I figured one would take 1 - 3 years. Maybe less since you already have a lot of experience with Exodus. What kind of commentary would you write?

Dang I missed it! Wanted to ask if you’d recommend any New Testament commentary series’s. Currently own Craig Keener’s New Testament commentary

According to ABR it was Garstang that said the middle building at Jericho was Eglon's palace. As Dr. Falk said the Bible doesn't say where his palace was.

I notice you use the NASB. Is it the 2020 version or the 1995 version?

I prefer the 1977 edition. It has better Greek and Hebrew. 😉

@@a.t.ministries5376 The 1977 edition slavishly follows the syntax of the Greek and Hebrew, and makes no attempt to smooth out the English of the translation. So it is terrible English but it is easy to see exactly what is happening in the Hebrew and Greek underneath the translation, that is, if you already know Hebrew and Greek. This can be a time saver for the more scholarly inclined.

Would love to hear a conversation on Cyril between Anthony Rogers and you. Speaking on the subject of manga, recently a creator named Liam Gray was asking about gods of Babylon and the Ark of the Covenant. I referred him to your works.

Referring to a children's bible that doesn't sugarcoat things, what do you make of the Action Bible comics?

You speak very confidently about things like the traits and abilities of spiritual beings. Where do you derive this information, and why are you so confident about it?
@ancientegyptandthebible
@ancientegyptandthebible 20 күн бұрын
Because I did my PhD on ancient Egyptian religion and rituals. I derived my information from the primary sources, and my research was peer-reviewed by a panel of experts in the field.

@@ancientegyptandthebible Thank you for the reply! I should have been now specific in my question, because I meant when you talk about, for example, spiritual beings in real life having one-way telepathy. How are you so confident about those facts? Or is it your Egyptian studies that convince you that that is how spirits actually work?
@ancientegyptandthebible
@ancientegyptandthebible 20 күн бұрын
@@SomeTomfoolery Well, I'm glad you refined your question, because that's different. Spirits having one-way telepathy is based upon studies done in philosophy of mind. Many philosophers have posed the question: Can one see without eyes? And the answer is a surprising: yes. But it is based upon the abilities to visualize true to the world with the ability to focus in and out. Given that basis for sight without eyes, other senses work similar. And this commutes over to how spirits interact and communicate within their environment even though they lack a physical bodies.

Ya'll need to quit talking about casseroles. I had to blow my diet today and make a tuna casserole while it was 105 outside.
