Yup I’m from the USA, but have been following the Japanese Rock/Metal scene for about three years. These ladies slay every performance. The first concert they played outside of Japan was the Whiskey A GoGo last July. I can’t wait for next March when they return to SF, LA, and Mexico City. Awesome group.

The vocalist, Mayu, is 8 months pregnant. That was a great show for her condition. What a bundle of energy. And Haraguchi’s bass shook that place. Omg.

The Japanese all-female metal scene has been blowing up over the last few years. Nemophila, Lovebites, and Band-Maid are probably the trifecta (Band-Maid is also playing Aftershock today, 10/9/22, though they are more hard rock than metal). There's a whole different work ethic in Japan, and I've found that their *average* musician is often comparable to our best! These bands are filled with straight up virtuosos (especially the three bands I mentioned)!

Love this band. Guitarist Saki, Drummer Tamu are well known. SakI been in various bands li,like, Marys Blood, Destrose. Tamu highly sought session drummer. They formed for a project of singer Mayu in 2019. But loved playing together formed Nemophila. Nemophila is a flower. This band is incredible.

Sounds like you folks have been missing out on the metal scene in Japan these past several years, including the rise of a bunch of kickass all woman groups. Nemophila guitarist Saki is known for Mary's Blood (on hiatus), and is in the duo Amahiru with Frédéric Leclercq (former DragonForce bassist). Lead singer Mayu was with Lipstick. Guitarist Hazuki was in Disqualia and the LisaX Band. The bassist Haraguchi-san was in Holderleins. Drummer Tamu Murata was with SORAMIMI and has also been a session musician in high demand. CURRENT NEWS: After performing with Nemophila at Aftershock, lead singer Mayu will taking maternity leave until January 2023, when they start a tour of Zepp venues in Japan. They'll be back in North America in March of 2023 with shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Mexico City.

They haven't been together very long, but guitarists, Saki and Hazuki and well known for their other bands. They both were in a great female metal band, Destrose. Destrose is like the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. So many awesome bands came out of that one group. Saki and Eye formed Marys Blood, Haruna and Miho formed LOVEBITES, Hazuki was in Disqualia and Mina form FATE GEAR. I saw Nemophila on Fraiday and they ROCKED!!!

Good thing I don't wait for these festival reports for great nee bands like Nemophila. Actually most of the great bands are in Japan right now and have been for a decade or more.

Nemophila is the name of a blue flower with five petals. NEMOPHILA is an all female metal band from Japan: Tamu Murata on drums Haraguchi-San on bass Hazuki on guitar Saki on guitar and Mayu on vocals. NEMOPHILA is a young band, but all members have made experiences in other bands.

Japanese rock/metal is a deep ocean. I strongly suggest checking out these 2 bands: Lovebites - Holy War - power metal, thrash metal, hard rock and anything in between, heavily inspired by 80s metal, these girls are masterclass musicians and they put a lot of "top bands" to shame. HANABIE - We Love Sweets - title is sweet, but the song is very spicy, they dont really fit any specific metal genre, "harajukucore" is a term used by them, in simple/short words I would translate it to "colorful metal", but one thing is for sure, they go HEAVY. Edit: just realized this is not an official channel, either way, if you dont know these 2 bands check them out.

I've known about Nemophila from their very start all the members have a history with other projects in Japan prior to Nemophila such as Saku from Mary's blood and other bands before that Mayu from lipstick Tamu formerly highly sought after session drummer and the list goes on with the other members another band you should highly check out is Hanabie who recently signed by Sony

Just wait till you find Band-Maid lol. Think they are playing at the House Of Blues in Houston on Oct. 28 or something like that. Band-Maid has a member called the barefoot assassin. When fire flies from her bass guitar I can see why she has the title. 🔥🎸🔥 Yea these ladies rock hard but I also recommend Rolling Quartz to check out. Amazing to think i thought SKorea was only K-Pop as guess not lol. Dreamcatcher is also worth checking out. The Foxhole runs deep as Babymetal & Horizon fans would now say lol. 💕🦊
