Ask South Korea, who always score higher than the US on democracy indices year after year and despite the fact that they have jailed 4 former presidents for crimes proven in court. A nation that holds its leaders as accountable as the most ordinary citizen would be held accountable is a healthy society.

I'm not that pessimistic about the jury as KFA naturally (as a former prosecutor) is. I think the jury is bored by Todd Blanche who didn't seem to go to the point. Also this "bloodbath" I cannot see (but I'm no lawyer at all)! Also "Objection" and "Sustained" kills IMHO this moment completely! Maybe that's why Blache got so angry what was his second mistake in this cross. Rating from those two big mistakes by Blache this cross was a disaster for Blanche (and Trump)!

I think a useful thought experiment for people who vote for Trump would be for them to imagine them throwing a dinner party, and they invite Trump. Would they love having them there? Would they allow their kids to listen to the Access Hollywood tape? Would they tell their kids that it's good to be unfaithful to their spouses and grab women, because "they let you do it"? If Trump's morals and behaviour isn't good enough for their kids to learn and emulate, perhaps Trump isn't a good choice for President. Because, isn't a leader supposed to be someone you aspire to be like? Trump would be a terrible dinner guest. He would make the entire evening all about himself. He would also have to be thrown out when he starts groping the other guests and comparing them to his daughter. How anyone would be okay with such a behaviour of a dinner guest, let alone as the President, is truly appalling.

I feel the same. I think what Trump, MAGA and the "evil" forces of the world want from us is a sense of hopelessness and despair. That way, our defences and resolve to fight are weakened and they can strike. All the good forces needs to boost eachother up as you say, and continue the fight, even when it feels hopeless. As Ben said, Trump doesn't have to become President again.
