On the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale, a ceremony at the Elysee presidential palace will see the French Guard alongside the Grenadiers of the British Royal Household enter the Elysee courtyard together.
The Franco-British ‘Entente Cordiale,’ a 1904 series of agreements, settled former disputes and significantly improved relations between the countries. This is the first time in the history of the Elysee Palace that foreign troops have been invited to take part in the military ritual. #france #britain #elysée #ententecordiale

My husband went to school with Philip who was French from Paris in Plymouth England ,his father fought in the French resistance . They were great friends all their lives wonderful people.

Then when the Islamic terrorist attacks in London again there was a Football match between France and England in Paris where French and England fans joined together to sing our National anthem to show the support and Friendship between our countries, also to show terrorists that we stand together and we will never give in to terrorists. J'ai regardé les cérémonies à Londres et à Paris. Tout était parfait et c'est tant mieux pour les relations entre nos deux pays. La Garde Républicaine devrait s'inspirer des fanfares des Anglais en mettant en scène une plus grande variété d'instruments (ils n'ont que clairons et tambours) et aussi, diversifier leur répertoire; ils jouent toujours les 4 mêmes morceaux: Marche Consulaire à Marengo, Sambre et Meuse, La Marseillaise et la Marche Lorraine (voyez par vous-mêmes au 14 juillet). C'est barbant au possible. For our english speaking readers: I watched the ceremonies in London and Paris. Everything was perfect and it’s so much the better for relations between our two countries. The Republican Guard should take inspiration from the English fanfares by featuring a greater variety of instruments (they only have bugles and drums) and also diversify their repertoire; they always play the same 4 pieces: Marche Consulaire à Marengo, Sambre et Meuse, La Marseillaise and la Marche Lorraine (see for yourself on July 14). It's boring as can be.
