@@whaddayawant2197 Go-Go Ray has been gone for a few years. Phil is great, though. Unfortunately, the past few shows I've seen online still have a different band (just a bass player and drummer). She's as good as ever but it's a very different energy

I think this must have been recorded in late 2019. It's the band she toured with starting in 2018 (or late 2017), minus the horns and violin. Then in early 2020 in the middle of a European tour with this line-up, COVID-19 happened and touring became impossible for a while. She stared touring again recently, but the economics and logistics of touring are a lot more difficult now, so there was probably no choice but to go back to a trio configuration with a drummer and bass player who are good, but I haven't seen them before.

Post-quarantine, Samantha has returned to playing with a trio, to reduce the "bubble" of exposure to potential illness. Additionally, all the musicians she has played with since October 2020 have been from New Orleans, where she also lives. Her aim is to keep herself, her band, and her fans as healthy as possible in order to be able to tour live as much as possible.

Sam makes that that cigar box kick ass & i just love this band; they've got a refreshing take on how a blues slide guitar song should sound.This is as impressive & raw as when i 1st heard Jesse Ed Davis doing "Stateboro Blues" on Taj Mahal in 68' or Duane Allman "Shake for me" John Hammond jr "Southern Fried" album 1970

She did learn from other talent. Her presence when palying the cigar box slide mixed with her demeanor is how she got my attention. pat benetar and Bonnie were paving the way for woman rockers and Samantha will make them proud.

Love this video, it's one of my favs! That last slide solo with the drums, bass and keys all kickin in together to get it going, that's badass! But what's up with the little smudge of lipstick on her pants? Maybe it's makeup I don't know but I feel like there's a backstory to it! Or maybe it's there on purpose. Otherwise it seems like with a video production of this level someone would have noticed it and said hey Sammy you have a smudge of something there on your beautiful thigh!
