NebulaBlossom i assume they are talking about the underlying ‘baby scent’ of newborns in their first month or so. their scalp gives off a scent that is theorized to have evolved to help bonding during breastfeeding, because bf is sometimes painful. the scent dissipates after that period, but some mothers insist it’s still there and like to smell their toddlers heads sometimes. i assume that myka was having trouble bonding to huxley, and she assumed it was because she hadn’t been part of his newborn period. because it totally couldn’t be that she’s just incapable of bonding with anyone she can’t view as an extension of herself. also, i doubt a laundry detergent actually could replace this smell because it’s unique to every baby. after a couple months babies do just smell like piss vomit and talcum though fjjfjdhd.
@LoveJoyPeace46123 жыл бұрын
@@milo-ru3hc I feel like this comes from the same type of thinking of the people who say things like you won't be bonded to your baby if you have a c-section instead of vaginal birth or formula feed instead of breast feed. That just was not my experience at all. I was bonded to my babies regardless and I've been bonded to kids that aren't biologically related to me as well. I'm bonded to them because I see them as unique individuals worthy of love, care and appreciation for who they are as individuals. Worthy of understanding of and assistance with their weaknesses and difficulties as well as appreciation for their strengths and unique characteristics. Equating bonding with something as superficial as scent is just off-putting to me. I'm not surprised that Myka finds that a convincing argument though. She comes across as a very shallow person.

He already had been through so much before even meeting the Stauffer family, and they gave him away like an old toy no one liked playing with anymore. I know Hux is better off since leaving that family, but the way they talk about it as if giving him away was an act of selfless benevolence, and they're the real victims here because he'll basically "get over it" soon actually turns my stomach. My daughter is on the spectrum and she gets lost on her own little world a lot, so even though change is hard on her, she doesn't seem to remember a lot about the tough times she experienced after our divorce and that's been a blessing in disguise. It's as though her mind automatically throws out information that would be hard on her to remember, so maybe that'll be true for Hux as well. I hope all those painful memories fade into his past & leave him with good memories worth hanging onto, and lots of space to build a happy future together with his new family.

@@theundomesticatedmom6440 as far as I know, the boy had been in ABA therapy for a while. :( but I gotta agree with the original comment: the Stauffers had weird standards and couldn't be bothered to give him more support because of costs. And yeah, from the videos, Huxley seems to be doing okay, he can communicate a lot and gets along with the siblings. They treat him so much like his support level is super high but couldn't be bothered to actually notice what he needs. She tries so hard to sound intelligent, but doesn't realize she is revealing the complete opposite almost every time she opens her pie hole. These narcissists create their own reality and will punish all those who challenge their nonsense. I would bet everything I own that she and current husband will end up divorcing before their children are out of the house. My experience has been that narcissists offer nearly ZERO real love and support for their partner, and they insist on making every single decision and will fight the spouse tooth and nail if this is challenged. The spouse of a narcissist lives an extremely emotionally isolated existence. I am absolutely positive this adoption was her idea, and when she had enough, she decided the kid had to go.

It was hard, really hard. I worked twice as much to understand him, I educated myself and kept fighting for him. He was in my care. Long story short, I learnt how to LOVE him and care for him. I struggled but never gave up on him. He lived a safe and secure life being loved as he needed and not as I wanted or expected him to. Not easy but worth it. I miss him very much still to this day. This is also part of a larger issue with how neurotypical people regard neurodivergent people. She wants SO BADLY for her child to present normatively that she will force him, through tactics ranging from uncomfortable to extremely abusive, to change who he is in order to "catch up to his peers" or "stop appearing so disabled". So many of the things that she describes him doing that she's trying to make him "overcome" were stimming, etc. and DO NOT HURT HIM OR ANYONE ELSE. "He stares at us when we eat, how do I make him stop?".... why? "He's exhibiting stimming behaviours how do I make him stop?"... WHY!? "He can't talk but I'm DETERMINED to get him to talk" ... again WHY?? He communicates in his own way, I'm sorry that's so inconvenient for you.

I don't mind the channels that have the parent's life and the child is just in the background, and sometimes the parent shows only a bit of footage with focus on the children. It's just life, and the channel belongs to the parent. But when parents make channels specifically about their children and it's not actually the parent's channel, then there's a huge problem. All they're doing is shoving a camera on their children's faces and then collecting money. All the while, the children aren't aware their image is being used for that parent to earn money. Disturbing.
@raerae64224 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The kids can’t consent. Those videos and articles are on the net for life. There needs to be a law that protects kids from parents that film their kids for financial gain. Yeah, but the bad is potentially in everyone. We need as bad circumstances to go into this self defence mechanism of narcissism or assholery . We are not essentially good and they’re bad, it is not to excuse their behaviour of course but any of us may as well crack after being ignored or abused early in life. Without this false self, these people may as well be dead or worse not exist. BUT we must not allow their BS to keep playing on many generations to come. It can stop. Our boundaries that stop abuse like this are for us. Narcs break all boundaries because overly nice people have none. The narc won’t respect anything or grow, but our NO to their BS is refusal to enable them. Calling them evil still feels their ego, and ours if we put ourselves in the goodies team. Non attention is what kills this “evil”. Narcisista are attention whores. If I feel disgusted by them still shows the power they have over my emotional state. And here we all are talking everywhere about them as the center of the universe... tricky but bettering ourselves would be much more helpful. More than denouncing we are better.

I am not an expert. But as an adoptive mother who has raised 15 children, I've seen a lot of things and here is my view: First, the reality of adoption: It is not that uncommon for adopted children to be rehomed. About 10% of adopted children are rehomed AFTER the adoption is finalized. About 15% before. This is usually because a person has adopted a child out of the range of their abilities. As a mother of adopted children. I would never do this, but I also made adoption my life's calling. Being the parent of a special needs child is a full-time job. Expecting to take care of your own children while taking care of an adoptive child with special needs AND running a youtube channel is just not practical or realistic. I do not know these people but decided to look at old videos after a friend told me about this. First Red Flag: She didn't listen to expert advice. Second Red Flag: She was getting donations from people which encouraged her on. Third Red Flag: When they realized that he was in a home where he had an attachment to foster mother, they should have left him where he was. I think the night in the motel the father realized this but didn't know what to do. Fourth Red Flag: Parents should not be allowed to put their children on social media for views. No one saw a problem with this as long as they were doing what the viewers wanted. But I can tell you that they knew within the first 3 months that they had gotten in over their heads but kept him because of viewers. After coming to the realization this is not going to work, they contacted an attorney. If he had been placed within the 3 months into a new home this story would not be so tragic. It is in my opinion that every viewer of this channel and everyone who donated is also to blame for this mess. People who watch channels where children are on display for their entertainment are to blame. Every child has a right to privacy while growing up and making mistakes. If adults want to put themselves out there, then fine. But something is wrong with a parent who would exploit their children whether adopted or not. And something is even more disturbing about the people who watch them. These channels claim to be 'learning or educational", but that's just bullshit. Anytime someone is making a living by using their children you should immediately feel uncomfortable and not contribute to the new form of child abuse I see going on today. For people who are really angry. You are not just angry at the couple, but at yourself, because you contributed to something really awful.

I never once watched any of her videos until they started making the rounds on the commentary and drama channels. And I only watched the so called explanation vid, where she cries and talks about herself and how SHE feels about abandoning the special needs adopted child from a completely different culture than her own. And I'm angry and pissed, I want her to experience retribution from the universe, karma for what she's done to H's life and childhood. So that might be true but it's not true for all of us.

Im at the part where she talks about how she thought the child would be shy and timid. This to me almost seems like racism because it sounds like the stereotypes people have made up about Chinese people.

As a 9 day old baby, I was adopted to a narcissistic mother and an enabling father. I cut ties with my parents and some siblings as an adult because I couldn’t take the gaslighting and abuse any longer. Since I have cut ties, my emotional and mental well-being has improved and I’ve never felt better about myself. I’m a huge advocate for more stringent assessments of prospective parents with any hidden mental health issues. My adoptive mother also possibly suffered from borderline personality disorder as well but because of her narcissistic tendencies a diagnosis was never able to be obtained. Someone on the outside a family like mine would be completely unaware of what life was like for me. I was always treated as the black sheep child - the problem child and was known as this within my fam even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. I’ve often thought about writing my story as a lifeline for anyone else who’s been through anything similar to me. Mainly in the hopes to provide some legitimacy and validation to anyone else out there who’s lived through it.

Ah! Also in that time I started to look for literature ,anything about sociopathy and just found only 1 book about it and was a book written by a relative of a sociopath who suffered a lifetime of abuse .Well I was not able to find it again after almost 20 years so my point is : We need more people to write about their experiences so their testimony will be a big help to others.Many blessings!

I was born into a family like that. Years of abuse. Mental, emotional and physical. As a mom, I'm always hyper aware of any potential similarities between myself and her. I cut ties with her years ago.

I'm so glad that you are doing better and can actually speak about it. There are so many kids who have suffered through something similar and it is important for u to keep your story out there. So that there is more awareness for these children!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Always know that you are valuable and loved!

Amazing videos. My mother is a narcissist but never really had validation. Going through everything in detail and pausing on facial expressions has me shook. My mother is really different personality wise from Myka, but the mannerisms, facial expressions, remarks, the use of Christianity to boost their image, obsession with their children’s looks... the list goes on. The similarities are remarkable.

Honestly kids are surprising good at sensing when people are being fake. He probably could tell she didn’t like him as much as the other kids and he’ll probably carry that feeling for the rest of his life. It will take him a long time to heal from being in this monster’s clutches

@Gloria Vargo I know that's not the same - but it's mostly not the same because it's not on the same level - but when I was working with children, be it as a volunteer or as a short-time intern, and a child didn't really like me or found my behavoiur too foreign to them, I let that child alone. But I didn't feel rejected or was mad at that child and didn't try to avoid them or felt "like I couldn't be in the same room with them". I left them alone for their own sake, as a way to not be overbearing or not leaving them their sapce which could have happened easily given that they didn't like me or were a bit uneasy 8not afraid, though) around me.
@camelopardalis844 жыл бұрын
@Gloria Vargo I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was criticising Myka. And recounting how I as a non-narc reacted whenever I was being rejected by a child. By leaving the child the fuck alone as much as was possible but not because my frail little ego had been damaged. I had a mother with NPD (well, she's not dead so I technically still have her ...) and it's so difficult to recognise the behaviour of someone like that as being messed up in the first place. And to understand *what* about the behaviour is messed up. It's so disgusting. Edit: Added missing word.

Omg! She’s horrible. She gave her baby back. I’ve always said if you have to say it. You’re not. Any man that says I love women. Run. Run fast. Any guy that has to brag about sex, isn’t getting it. If you’re getting it, you don’t have to talk about it. Listen to her. Such a strong connection she gave him back 2 years later. She’s gross.
