As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. kzfaq.infoUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.

Thank you for doing this video. Helped me determine which tool is better.

Thanks for the video. The variable speed switch on my older model made it difficult to maintain a set speed whilst moving the tool around and the switch failed earlier than it should, so I was reluctant to buy an identical replacement. The new model with a fixed speed control makes controlling the speed simple and hopefully the new switch lasts longer. I've just ordered the new one.

I have both tools...and now have to replace the trigger-in the older one...101$ candian replacement...I’ve worked it hard putting flooring down and cutting through lots of plaster and lath...I really like the way you can place the head at different angles as the battery tends to get in the way...I have yet to give the new one it’s dues..just got it last week..🇨🇦

Some of the Ridgid JobMax heads are on clearance now, so if you have the older one you might want to look for any heads you might want to have.

Owned about 6 different brands. I always go back to corded versions. I just make to many to many cuts. (Hardwood flooring contractor). Really love the variable speed triggers.

thanks for the comparison. been trying to find what is different between 50B and 51B but good to know that 50B is a good tool

Interesting. I've been wondering about this exact question. I have the older multi-head model, but mine is so old that it doesn't have the tool-less blade change. Did you know they made one like that? Anyway, I have always found it to be vague and a pain to change blades. Looks like I'll be upgrading. Thanks for the vid!

I’m not sure but I think you should try the other opening on the blade it may not be as sloppy because it will be shorter

Great video. I currently have both models as well. What you described about the old oscillating to was spot on. Hence, I now have the new Ryobi oscillating tool. It's a great upgrade over the old one in terms of ergonomics.

I Use Mine I Don't Have A Bit Of Trouble Using Mine. Can You Get That Tooless Change Head Online Or In Most Home depot Stores?
@DevelopWithDan3 жыл бұрын
If you get the opportunity to get the job max right angle impact or the job max metal shears, they're both awesome. I also have the corded job max, along with this Ryobi 18v. Between the two, I get pretty much every combination I could ever want.
@rudyschwab77093 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to get the right angle impact head since December. No one has it in stock however Rigid still advertises it on their web site. None of the dozens of questions posted on the site in which people ask about availability have been answered. I'm starting to wonder if Rigid is now in a final downward spiral.

Thanks for the review! Well done. 😁 I have heard the new brushless model has a big defect... I heard the trigger quickly becomes very hard to turn on taking two hands to do it. To the point that many owners wish they had not purchased it. Would love your thoughts on that.
@livefreeandtoolon2 жыл бұрын
that just happened to me, in my case i will be taking it apart to investigate!
@Widowmaker28282 жыл бұрын
@@livefreeandtoolon I did go ahead and buy one also based mostly on your review. It did work great for a while. (Wish it wasn't so easy to bump the speed dial) but now the trigger is getting very stiff. Let me/us know what you find if you take it apart and if it's worth doing. Cheers 🥂

can u cut the bottom of door frames to fit new flooring with the ryobi hp? or does the battery get in the way of being able to cut straight into the doorframe when the blade is almost on the floor?
