Nothing like hearing the names of cities you’ve been through and lived in on such a great song.

My all-time favorite female artist! I feel lucky and honored to be born on the same day as her.

This song touched me so deeply. It's so beautiful and Lucinda hits every note soo subtly...sweetly...perfectly.

Kerry Baylor Yer loved her performance and had a great band with her at the Enmore Theatre a few years ago. I believe it was my best surprise and favourite concert that year.
What year was that, 70s? In any case one of my favorite even with a voice!

1998 I believe.

I saw her at the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge on this tour. I think it was 1999. Great show it was. Danced with my lady (and eventually mother of my children) that night and will never ever forget 😎

Is Lucinda Williams covering Paige Anderson or is it the other way round?

Looks like late 90s and that's when Car Wheels was released (1998). Just a guess.

Inspired by the Jackson sung by Johnny and June...
@philipreeder69313 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that's true. Johnny and June cut a great tune., But Lucinda's Jackson was born in a whole other world.
@MrAschiff3 жыл бұрын
@@philipreeder6931 Lucinda probably had their albums if she was doing that song. It was a song associated with them.
@deborahboykin40312 жыл бұрын
Two different Jacksons, I think. Johnny and June were singing about Jackson, Tennessee. Based on the other towns she mentioned, I'm guessing this is the one in Mississippi.
@MrAschiff2 жыл бұрын
@@deborahboykin4031 I'm aware they are two different songs. I just said it was inspired by it.

it's also a rather neat inversion of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix"
