Kia Seltos gives features which are not available in even entry level luxary cars. Build quality although average, is par with any Japanese counterparts. New Seltos can score can score 5 stars with base 6airbags. All fatal accidents mostly can be counted by fingers should have occurred at very high speeds. Even 5 stars Harrier, Altroz was split into pieces in some rare cases.

Kia Seltos’s diesel version is 1361 kg in weight which is higher than Renault Duster diesel’s 1295 kg , Tata nexon diesel 1310 kg , Ford ecosport diesel 1290 kg , Mahindra Xuv300 1390 kg. Now compare all kerb weight figures

Kia can end Maruti but don't think of Tata even by mistake, Tata has given that iron for 15 to 20 lakhs which others give for 25 to 65 lakhs and that too in tin cans. so only Tata 🇮🇳💪

I drive 2 VW Cars along with Seltos. I never felt Seltos far inferior from them in safety. Definitely feels a bit lighter that the VAG. But weight of Seltos 1246kg, My Skoda Rapid 1205kg.

Not lighter , Seltos’s diesel version is 1361 kg in weight which is higher than VW vento diesel 1180 kg. Skoda Octavia diesel was 1400 kg in kerb weight. Renault Duster diesel was 1295 kg , Tata nexon diesel 1310 kg , Ford ecosport diesel 1290 kg , Mahindra Xuv300 1390 kg. Now compare all kerb weight figures

You can see crash testing of Australia and gncap. They are identical. Australia is 5 stars, Indian is 3stars. Even though structure may be be bit different, it is good enough. People think Seltos is weak. But actually engine is too strong unlike the Japanese cars and people drive it above 120-140kmph.

Mine in Seltos IVT, so diesel will be above 1361kg. Even Jeep compass is 1600kg but is much larger than Seltos.

@@canary2020 ANCAP version was tested for side impact too. Thats why it helped it to get 5 star rating. If you read Ancap’s thorough report you will see that international variant also has same problem of unstable Footwell area same like indian seltos. Even GNCAP has mentioned for Kia Carens that Carens has passed UN95 criteria for side impact. But carens also was assessed only for frontal impact where only front 2 airbags matter. And carens was crash tested with 1640 kg crash test weight which was highest ever for a cross over platform. CARENS is based on Sonet’s K2 platform and NOT the Seltos’s K2 platform
