The Republican National Committee is telling Michael Cohen, its former deputy finance director who has turned on President Trump, to “have fun in prison” as part of a coordinated war room effort to push back against his expected anti-Trump public testimony on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Fox News was given an exclusive look at the RNC’s planned efforts to fight back against Cohen, who is expected to testify against Trump, his former longtime boss, during a much-anticipated House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday. Cohen is testifying on Capitol Hill for three days this week, though Wednesday’s hearing is the only one that it is public.
Part of the effort is distributing a video titled “Have Fun in Prison!” that includes clips of Cohen previously vouching for Trump during the presidential campaign. Cohen has since pleaded guilty to multiple crimes, including campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying to Congress, as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Cohen, sentenced to three years, is expected to report to prison in May.
“Convicted felon Michael Cohen is going to prison for lying, including lies he told under oath to Congress,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News. “This whole charade is not about truth, it is a last ditch effort to save face and cast blame on everyone but himself for his crimes.”
According to a game plan for Cohen’s testimony reviewed by Fox News, the RNC is preparing a war room similar to what the party did when former FBI Director Jim Comey testified against the president on Capitol Hill last year. Ahead of the hearing, the RNC is booking surrogates on television and blasting emails to reporters about Cohen.
Among the talking points being used by the RNC: “Cohen is going to prison for lying under oath to Congress and no one should believe a word he says in his testimony this week.”
“It’s unfortunate Democrats are wasting the public’s time with this established liar in an effort to distract from the historic progress President Trump is making overseas with North Korea,” McDaniel told Fox News.

He was not found guilty of lying for anyone but himself in the first hearing. They have no proof he lied for the president. What he was convicted for was personal finances and lying to congress about what he was asked as far as that goes. The total amount of prison time he could be serving is upwards of 70 years and he's only doing 3. Nothing to do with the president but for his own financial gain. He's already been caught lying on numerous occasions in this hearing not only about his financial statements again, but has said the president did NOT ask him to lie to congress, but he said he "knew how things worked and did what he saw necessary to fix the issues" that is to say he assumed what the president wanted done and did so without direct orders from the president to do so. As I don't have a dog in the fight I think its funny that all this is coming up and even an issue the money thing Bill Clinton (D) did these things and more while president, even in the OVAL office, paid women off to keep them quit and was caught by DNA evidence. He then lied to a federal judge and the people stating "he did not have sexual relations with that woman" and then said "Oh i'm sorry i lied" and was still never impeached. So this is actually going nowhere as far as the checks go he can't prove they were given to him as a payback only his word, which as we can clearly see isn't worth the breath its spoken with.

I think it was a weak character and lack of personal integrity paired with the gains associated with working for the president that did truthfully get him caught up in the narcissistic aura and that the blinds now came off for him. He is probably disgusted at how much he bent without even being forced most of the time and accepting a presidential pardon would just have made him vomit. He likely also feels being used as a patsy and is on a personal vendetta to bring the other involved individuals to fall. The most effective way to do that for him was being truthful, appeal to emotion (which contrasts Trump's law&order doctrine) and being overly collaborative. The three years in prison will give him time to write a book that will be released late in 2022.

The great American political divide also occurred long before the Trump era which is exactly why I’m an independent voting for the person I feel would do the best job rather than having a blind loyalty towards a party. But I have a question for Mr. Gomez: the question I have is, considering the IRS abuse of power and criminalities against conservatives starting long before the Trump era for presidency would you want to be subject to releasing your tax returns if you were a conservative? The IRS scandal I’m speaking of occurred in the Obama era! So can anyone even trust the IRS at this point because it seems to be biased and untrustworthy based on that scandal. I’m an independent but even I question a fair tax audit to a conservative with equal justice under the law! So how would anyone know if an audit of a conservative vs a liberal would result in the same outcome or findings of the very same tax write off whether it be from a conservative or liberal?

Anyone else catch that around 33:40 the bottom of the screen reads over 4500 migrant children getting sexually abused while in US custody since 2015? In 3 years. That is close to 5 kids per day getting raped while being taken away from their parents. How is it that this is even a possibility? Who puts these kids in a position where that can even happen?

Can someone give Chairman Cummings the heads up that he doesn't live in, nor is he a Congressman of, a Democracy? The Government he works for (or usually against actually) is a Republic form of Government. They need to start opening congressional meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance so they can remember what kind of a government we are living it.
