Hey Charlie. I live in Sydney. Grew up five minutes from where it took place. My friend Dawn from my school years was stabbed and killed yesterday. I dont believe there is any reason to think that the stabbings were fuelled by Islam. So far, police have been pretty clear that there is no reason to believe there was any political or ideological motivations. Police were familiar with him, and they say they suspect mental health causes for the attack. I dont even think anyone has confirmed his religion, and the attacker looks as white as you or I.
