I’m not a Liverpool fan, but I love football. I have followed Jürgen Klopp from his days at Dortmund and was thrilled when he came to Liverpool. There is no question in my mind that he is the best manager in the world. He is a naturally talented man manager. He gets the best out of every player. He never criticises, he puts his arm around his players and protects them, gets them paying as a team, for each other. Ferguson did it in a different way, but Klopp does it in his way and it is great to see.

As a man United fan that's a touch of class by liverpool and klopp what a manager the guy is pure class to be fair

Jurgen is in the midst of a league title race yet he still finds time to help with this smaller team, klopp is awesome

Does it blow anyone else's mind that Liverpool can take time out of their busy schedule in training to help an obscure non-league side out with theirs, and still break records left, right and centre in the premier league? Most other clubs would class this as goofing off. Liverpool think of it as a bit of fun. Amazing.

Liverpool really struck gold when they took Klopp on. No team in the world wouldn't want such a likeable, friendly and passionate manager at their club. Good to see John Aldridge, not seen him around in years. Still to this day his most memorable moment has to be when he was delayed in coming on as a sub in USA'94 for the ROI in Orlando. Absolutely pricesless!!

I' played against Greystones United U16s team earlier this season, they may not be one of the best teams in Ireland, but they have a decent set up down there and have a good family club vibe and those are two key factors for making a great team 👍🏻

Table near the end ‘Home Farm’ is where Ronnie Whelan came from. What a great player, probably one of Irelands best if not their very best midfielders ever…and of course an Anfield great, taking the captaincy when Hansen was injured, winning the FA Cup, but losing ‘that game’ to Arsenal 0-2 with the last kick of the season giving them the title. Won it Back the year after, though. With Molby, McMahon, Kenny, then Beardsley, linking up to Rush up front, it was nearly as good as the midfield today. I was lucky to catch the end of one of footballs longest and most successful spells of any club anytime, anywhere, from Shanks in 66 FA Cup, until Dalglish double of 86 and Hansen lifting the title on retirement as captain and player. They’d have won a couple of European trophies if they didn’t get the ban (and Juventus got nothing, never mind Italy, except the European Cup. The dive that corrupt French knob ‘ead Platini made to ‘win’ a penalty and the match, it’s almost embarrassing, even live watching in a caravan in the Lakes as a 7 year old, I was angry as hell. But Liverpool, no matter when players left and new ones came in, they seamed to get the knowledge of always challenging and usually winning the big trophies. Villa and Forest twice won the European Cup, so the league was strong. Same can’t be said for United in the 90’s with only Kenny at Blackburn able to be consistent enough, til Wenger came in at Arsenal, then Abromovich and Mourihno at Chelsea. Then the trophies started to dry up even though they had their best teams. That and Hillsborough I think made English football change, and as a result, back to the best league in the world with 3 of the top 4 teams and 4-5 of the top 8 clubs. Yeah, Liverpool lost out and United gained in the chaotic first few years of the Premier League, but that’s getting rectified. Remember, quite a few managers have won the league with Liverpool, whereas at United, only 3 Managers have won them the Englishtop flight league title…Ranger, Busby and Ferguson. United only fill the power gap when the league reduces in quality, as they always have had, and still, have Stars, not real ‘teams’, and they buy the league with the size of the club. Liverpool always have to do it the hard way, against the best, that’s when they won, and that shows in the European record. United? They’re not winning it for a while. But Klopp’s building Liverpool back up, and as long as they get his successor correct, he could be the Paisley to Klopp’s Shankley. Imagine that! Futures bright, Futures Red and Manchester is Blue. Ps. Could be an existisitential threat to United. They’re gonna be like Everton, but with a huge ground and facilities etc. Doesn’t look good at all. Kids being born today may take City as Liverpool’s ‘Big Rival’, which will just be a smooth transition as it’s a rivalry of cities, not just clubs. With City being more Manchester than United, too, United have become a victim of their own success at becoming a ‘Worldwide Brand’ like Real Madrid, but Madrid could afford to as they never have too much competition domestically so always almost guaranteed a spot in the Champions League. England, there’s too many clubs that can succeed domestically and in Europe to take it for granted like Madrid can.
